favorite part of a chorus line (1985) was watching the horde of auditioning dancers individualize into these people with unique childhoods, sex lives, hurts and triumphs, only for the final dance number to zoom out so you can't see their faces, and they're dressed all the same, hitting the exact same steps in perfect, (beautifully) monotonous unison, so you can't tell apart the individuals but only the crowd. little bit of a horror to that. yay!
my top five songs of may, per receiptify:
mariners apartment complex — lana del rey
the master’s call — marty robbins
they’re hanging me tonight — marty robbins
white feather hawk tail deer hunter — lana del rey
javelin (to have and to hold) — sufjan stevens

in last night's dream i was in a dark cabin in the woods lit by old kerosene lamps, and someone delivered a baby polar bear to me to care for. the baby polar bear kept biting me in the playful way that puppies do, but by the end of the dream my arms were covered in blood. worst part was feeling so guilty for needing to give the polar bear away :(
