Stiles had no idea what had happened. One minute they were driving fine, and the next Stiles lost complete control of his jeep. The wheel stopped steering, the breaks were useless... And they just kept going. Straight into a tree. Stiles felt the car come off it’s back wheels at the impact, launching them both forward against the dashboard before everything went black.

He came around slowly, a throbbing pain in every part of his head. He could smell petrol. He could smell smoke. Smoke meant fire, and fire and petrol meant... The panic was settling in but Stiles was drowsy. Beyond drowsy, even. He groaned, head turning against the headrest to see what state his passenger was in. “A-Amyth-... Amythest...? Are.. We need...” He could barely form words, his eyelids already heavy with wanting to pass out again. His hand managed to find her leg, pushing weakly. “We.. we need.. to go...”
