Hey! Wanted to ask you a question. Your fics inspired a fic idea of mine. Of ahtarii and the cost of cruelty. If a child dies knowing that nobody cares about them, that nobody will save them, there is a chance that they will turn into a monster, half dead and half cursed. This is heavily avoided/taboo in galahd for this. But lucian traffickers and thieves care not. Crownsguard wont chase lucians for missing savage children, who have no parents or clan to them. Then, after several children go missing in the galahkar community, a nightmare is born. The gahlakar ward their homes and pray for safety. It is time for the lucians to learn the cost of cruelty- something is hunting crownsguard in the dark. May I lightly base my story off of yoir worldbuilding? I love the clan structures! If not its ok, love your work! Thank you!
Hi there!
Sorry for the late reply, I haven't really been on Tumblr for a bit (Genshin Impact has kinda swallowed me whole XD)
Your idea sounds amazing! Also, you have my blessing to use as much of my worldbuilding as you want, including Hadnissa. (And if you need help with finding words in Hadnissa, feel free to shoot me a message.)
Ok. Question about sun is out Luche/areana/tredd. Luche has feels for tredd. Has Luche ever done something romantic for Tredd? Tredd seems pretty easy to please, and would happily do something sweet back. Idk if Luche could handle being romanced without blushing brighter than Tredd's hair. Thoughts?
Luche is a hissy, grumpy little shit and he refuses to acknowledge any and all romantic things he's ever done. See, Aranea is oblivious to any and all romantic things so that's easy. But Tredd is a needy fuck who is all touched and moved and shit.
Here's a list of things Luche does for Tredd (and Aranea) but which only Tredd reads as romantic:
Washes their gross, muddied, dusty carcasses post mission. (One day, when they inherit the CorNyx house, they're gonna have a BATH and Luche will finally taste the fucking decadence of soaking in a hot bath with his two idiots, post mission.)
Checks in at least once a day to make sure they ate and then bullies them to eat if they haven't. Luche is a passable cook, but he's friends with three separate line cooks and take out is cheap.
Take care of the pig. Play with the pig. Walk the pig. Feed the pig. Wash the pig. Have long, spirited arguments with the pig. Threaten to cook the pig.
Once the twins are born, he is the "why" parent. (Tredd is "what" and Aranea is "how"). This isn't inherently romantic but Tredd is weak for Luche being a dad. It's hot and cute and fuuuuck him.
Tredd is not good at... a lot of things. He tries a lot and really hard, and he fucks up even more. He forgets anniversaries and dates and a lot of things, but the one thing he has is that he always knows when either of his idiots needs a hug. Or a fight to get their mind off things. Tredd is great at being distracting. And he laughs at everyone's bad jokes.
And, you know, he's in. Doesn't matter what. He's in. If it's either or them, or both of them. He's in, no questions asked, no second thought.
Tredd trusts them, and the most romantic thing about it is that both Aranea and Luche know what that means. How rare that is.
Hiya! From the angst prompt list: "Cant sleep?" With Pelna and Libertus please. Have a great day!
Thanks for sending an ask! Sorry for the wait! I hope you like it!
Pelna sighed as he made his way through the camp in search of his tent. It felt like they’ve been on this mission forever, even though he knew objectively it had only been a few weeks. But the Niffs were leading them on a merry chase, and he was exhausted. This was the third base they’d set up in as many days as they tracked some Niff forces causing havoc in the countryside. Somehow they kept missing them, only coming across the destruction they left behind. It was fucking depressing.
He was just coming off a late watch, and his thoughts were full of falling into his bedroll and being unconscious for a few precious hours. Then he caught something out of the corner of his eye, and heaved an even deeper sigh. He changed course back to the mess tent before heading back to the half wall looking out into the night.
“Can’t sleep?” Pelna handed Libertus the cup of tea he’d gotten for him.
Libertus blinked, startled, and took the mug out of habit. Pelna settled down on the wall next to Libertus and crossed his arms.
Libertus took a sip and made a face.
Pelna laughed. “I don’t why you expected anything different. The tea is always the same.”
“I don’t know why they can’t find some good Galahdan black.” Libertus scowled into the mug before taking another sip.
“You know why.” Pelna shook his head. “At least it’s hot.”
Libertus’ lips twisted. “I guess.”
They sat quietly for a few minutes as Pelna watched the darkness, eyes scanning for any movement out past the perimeter.
When it became clear Libertus wasn’t going to say anything, Pelna blew out a breath. “It’s well past your watch being over.”
Libertus’ jaw clenched but he stayed quiet.
“That idiot will be fine. He’s got Ifrit’s own luck, you know that.” Pelna watched Libertus out of the corner of his eye.
Libertus snorted. “One of these days, that idiot’s luck is going to run out.”
“He does know how to handle himself, you know. He’s not helpless.” Pelna shifted as he continued to watch Libertus.
Hunters had sent out a message asking for help earlier in the day. One of their own had sent a distress call and then fell off the grid. Nyx had volunteered to go looking, because of course he did. Luche wouldn’t let anyone else go with him, since he said it would risk the mission unnecessarily. Not that that discouraged Nyx. So he left, and he hadn’t reported in since. He was supposed to be back hours ago, or at least have contacted them.
So he knew why Libertus was worried. But sitting up worrying wasn’t going to solve anything or get Nyx back any sooner.
“That idiot has the common sense of a concussed chocobo,” Libertus muttered.
Pelna snickered and nudged Libertus with his shoulder. “Maybe you should set a good example.”
Libertus turned to look at Pelna, eyebrows raised.
“You’re not doing anyone any good moping out here. Finish your tea. Go to sleep. When Nyx comes back, you rub it in how you didn’t lose any sleep over him.”
Libertus narrowed his eyes as Pelna nudged him again. “I know what you’re doing.”
“Is it working?”
Libertus relented, shoulders sagging. He drank the rest of his tea in one go. “Fine. Have it your way. I’m going.”
Pelna clapped him on the shoulder as they stood up. “Rest well. Nyx’ll be back before you know it.”
Libertus snorted, but didn’t argue as he trudged back to his tent.
Pelna watched long enough to make sure Libertus was actually going there, before resuming his own walk to his bed. Nyx better be back soon, or Pelna was going to kill him himself.
Can I ask a question for the Aiden AMA? Aiden, are you or Lambert ticklish? If so, where, and how often do you mess with each other? Love you guys!
Aiden will tell you he isn’t the slightest bit ticklish.
He also tells Lambert this. Whilst Lambert is tickling him and Aiden stands there with his arms folded, trying to breathe through it in the hope he can withstand it just long enough that Lambert gets bored and drops the whole thing.
He can’t. And Lambert doesn’t get bored.
I just don’t think tickling a witcher is a good idea. If he yeets you, that’s one hell of a yeet :|
Hi! Merry Solstice! I just got a pic from my father that reminded me of your stories- I thought you might enjoy it. He was bowhunting up a tree and a snow white buck passed silently below him- a very rare sight. Imagine walking through the jungle, gathering plants and seeing the flick of a white courel tail in the dappled shadows. Was it real? Are there eyes watching from the branches? Only an Ulric knows. XD love your writing!
Merry (late) Solstice to you as well!
Ohhhhhhh
I can believe that this is rare. Your father had good luck!
And yes, I find it really interesting.
The Galahkari are walking through the jungle and sometimes, just sometimes, they catch a glimpse of the Great Lady. They think it was accidental. A small blessing. She is watching over them. Or someting else close enough.
But it's an accident. The Great Lady is only seen when she wishes to.
Of course the one who saw her goes to the nearest Ulric (Nyx, it's Nyx) to ask about the meaning of seeing her.
You wrote the Sun is out the Day is New? Dude! That series is my pick me up. I read that fic when life was getting me down- which happened often enough through the plague. It not only got me into Cornyx, but inspired me to write more myself. Thank you for writing! You are amazing and need to be told so more. Peace and luck to you!
(And because I'm a fluff lover, any cute Luche/Tredd/Areana hcs? XD no pressure, you are amazing anyway)
I did! My old tumblr (the one with the matching branding, I'm notavodkashot everywhere else) got nuked and out of spite I slunk away to Twitter. But welp, back again!
I'm very happy to hear you found solace in the story and that it had value for you! That's awesome! I will forever witch cackle when people get into CorNyx because YES, GOOD, IT'S A GOOD SHIP, SHIP MY SHIIIIP, I croon, rattling my cage bars. Also, you writing more is always fantastic, more fic! More writing! That's fantastic, thank you for sharing!
There's a point, somewhere around year 4 of the ten years of darkness (spoilers, the ten years of darkness do happen in the SiO continuity), where Luche, Tredd and Aranea start having tandem conversations. That is, they don't finish their sentences, when they're talking, instead just getting as far along as needed for the idea to be conveyed, at which point they'll trail off and someone else will pick it up and keep going. They do this. Constantly. It's very often the same conversation all day long, just broken here and there by having to interact with other people, who are very tired and not very enthused about the prospect of interrupting them.
All of which is mildly funny to spectate, form a distance, but nothing quite compares to the horror of three very loud, very angry idiots tag-teaming a dressing down because you did something dumb.
The Crownsguard turned Kingsglaive very much does not do the same dumb thing twice, y'know?
Aaa! You are amazing. Second ask cuz I'm a fluff lover: Luche/Areana/Tredd: does anyone sleepwalk/sleep talk (it would be hilarious if luche came home late one night to see tredd petrified at Areana sleep standing in the corner, horror movie style) ? Who's ticklish and who abuses that fact (areana would so abuse her boys) ? Which person is Bacon's favorite? Who is the biggest cuddlebug? XD Answer or not, you are amazing!
You're very kind, thank you!
Aranea, like Cor, is an early riser, but she's cranky if not properly caffeinated. I feel if anyone sleep walks/talk it would be Tredd, and he'd just keep showing up, jump scare style, chilling in the background, before getting smacked awake in frustration.
Aranea is ticklish! Tredd finds out and spends about two years trying not to give it away because Aranea will strangle him if he tells Luche.
Luche already knows.
Bacon loves no one more than Tredd! Unless it's feeding time and then it's Luche. But mostly Tredd! Tredd loves his pig so much, my god.
Tredd is comfortable to cuddle with, he makes a good pillow. He enjoys being one, too, because touch starved idiot. Luche likes having the people he cared about close and in sight, so this works. Aranea is half cat, so.
Hi! Love your worldbuilding! Question about Àris the beastmaster. As a patron/the role he represents, what did he do? Did he tame beasts? I'm imagining a hunting hound master, as dogs exist/ are canonically able to have magic. I train hunting dogs and hounds- we are an old hunting family. My dad had a hunting cow once. Running through a forest to keep up with bawling hounds is an experience! As is watching a dog get hot on trail by body language alone.
Back to the point: Was Àris an animal tamer? Or something else? Did the Galakari have non human hunting companions? Love your stuff!
He does!
Áris is the one who hunts with animal companions and also the one who leads the chace once Enías has found their prey.
People who have Áris as their patron are generally good with animals and fast on their feet. They are also either very social people, always in the thick of things, or prefer the company of animals. There is no in between.
Yes, the Galahkari did have non human hunting companions. Most popular are a small breed of coeurl, that are the size of akita dogs. (Credit to the Kingsglaive Discord Server for that idea.) Their lightning is powerful enough to stun, but not enough to kill.
Story goes that Áris was the first human on Galahd who got a coeurl to hunt with him and also the one who started breeding them.
