The Sudden Killing of Tupac Shakur
Tupac Amaru Shakur was more than just a rapper, he was an enigma. You had to be cut from the same cloth he was in order to understand him. There was no denying that Tupac was extremely talented, but to society he was considered a threat. Tupac was viewed as a danger to society due to his persona, he was viewed as a gangster, thug, and a criminal. Tupac was a very out spoken man and tended to say whatever was on his mind. Born in Harlem, New York, Tupac was exposed to life on the east and west coasts of the country. Tupac was a poet, writer, actor, and musical artist notorious for doing things his way whether it was allowed or not.
Tupac went through quite a bit in his career. He starred in a couple of movies, wrote several rap albums, and was definitely the biggest artist on his label, but he was also shot 5 times, accused of sexually abusing a female fan, and accused of being a gangbanger. Regardless of the situation, Tupac had his mind set on changing the world and becoming the biggest star the world would ever see.
On September 7, 1996 Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight decided to take a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to catch the Mike Tyson fight. Later that same night while driving the Las Vegas Strip Tupac was brutally shot in a drive by shooting. Tupac was shot in the pelvis, chest, right hand, and right thigh. One of the bullets punctured a lung and Tupac began to bleed internally. Tupac was rushed to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada where he passed away six days later. Tupac Shakur’s killers were never found and they are still on the loose till this day. There have been some allegations that say Tupac was set up by someone close to him or even the government. Some people have gone as far to say that Tupac was asking for it since in the recent months leading up to his killing he was starting problems between west coast artists and east coast artists. Regardless of what it might have been, Tupac Shakur’s death had come as a surprise to the world.
Regardless if you like Tupac Shakur or hated him, he was one of the most influential artist in the history of rap music. His work lives on till this day, and he speaks for a certain group of people. He was an extremely talented young man and it is unfortunate to see such a young talent go to waste. His work will forever live in us and we will always remember the good he did for the world.
