does it feel like ur in an alternate canadian dimension where bagged milk exists and the cars are small (cuz that’s how i felt when i went to ottawa)
i saw
the cutest truck the other day and i will have to draw it
it was the polar opposite of a lifted truck i laughed so hard
but yes it feels like an alternate dimension in the sense that
1. the colours of transit and license plates are reversed
2. toronto feels (as i guessed) far more like victoria or calgary than it does like edmonton or vancouver (because it has that Romantic Nostalgic Canadian Vibe- not that Vancouver doesn’t exactly but Vancouver also feels like “oh I guess it’s 2010 and time to make myself look more Canadian for the Olympics” because it does not have the same Atmosphere as the others, it is far more a Pacific city than a Canadian city where as Victoria despite being more isolated seems to be more “in step” with the big touristy city vibe?? wild.
3. that said Toronto is very Big City in a way that all the other big cities I’ve been to are Not as well, Vancouver is a big Pacific City (looking west to Sydney and Tokyo rather than east) who Knows It and Won’t Let You Forget It while Calgary is a big western city that is trying Really Hard to pretend to still be a small town “yes YAHOO I am still a small town hey can you retweet this my neighbour is looking for her dog also why don’t these chaps fit me anymore” and Edmonton is a big city Completely in Denial (”what do you mean i am in national geographic are you sure it’s me” “what do you mean adequate transit”) when it comes to anyone other than people from SK or the North (”hahaah aww cute yes I am a Real City just dont tell the others”). Toronto is a big city in a way that says “I AM LIKE NEW YORK but clean and i want to be in bed by ten please”
4. what the hell is eastern canada is this where everyone else hangs out in the time???
