Sebagai kandidat selama tahun terkait, saya merasakan adanya kesulitan dalam mencari informasi; baik online maupun personal. Saya harap informasi perihal alur ini bisa membantu teman-teman kandidat beasiswa Fulbright. Candidacy (Alternate Candidate)

19 April 2024: A: AMINEF support letter for Portland State M: email to PSU regarding funding & additional scholarship for Fulbrighters

22 April 2023: PSU: email reply  A: Final negotiation from IIE to RU -> The estimated total cost for Rutgers already includes the 50% tuition award that the university has confirmed, and the U of Florida budget with no confirmed awards applied. IIE Placement Team has indicated that that Rutgers may be able to increase their tuition award from 50% to 75%. This would bring the Rutgers Y1 personal balance down to around $3,282. Placement also indicates that U Florida may provide an out-of-state tuition award of approx. $17,000. This would bring the U of Florida Y1 personal balance down to around $6,763. As Rutgers is your preferred program over U Florida and you confirms that can only afford a small personal balance of around $1,000 per year, Placement is requesting additional cost-share from Rutgers asking if an 85% tuition award could be extended to you to eliminate the personal balance, but the team believes that amount would be unlikely as the university typically doesn’t offer that high of a tuition award. We will keep you updated on any increased award that Rutgers confirms, but if they can only increase the tuition award to 75%, you would need to provide approximately $3,282 to cover the shortfall for us to be able to place you at this university. Please let us know if you can provide the personal funding in the amount of $3,282 to officially accept Rutgers. M: Questions about projected funding & the money for SF bank statement A: you need to inform us that you have funding to cover the shortfall for the duration of your study.

23 April 2024: A: IIE Placement Team is still working on confirming the increased tuition award from Rutgers; we believe the university will be able to increase the current 50% tuition award up to 75% but are still awaiting confirmation of this.

7 Mei 2024: Rutgers confirmed to increase the tuition award to 75% -> SF: $4.540

12 Mei 2024: Discussion email

14 Mei 2024: Confirmation of bank reference 

15 Mei 2024:  A: We will let you know on the status of your candidacy when it is available, hopefully before May 30 as it is the deadline for confirming the placement. Your alternate status is contingent upon the availability of the fund. M: info on acceptance by PSU + Additional $4,500 Grant award from PSU to be applied to tuition, further information on the LoA

16 Mei 2024: A: 1) Information on Maintenance Rate (MMR) for Portland -> to calculate my own expenses. 2) Unfortunately, there is no update on your candidacy status, so you can not proceed with placement at this point. M: Confirmation of bank reference -> I have acquired your nett amount of SF for Rutgers, and I can confirm I could attach a bank statement for Rutgers tomorrow. A: We will lock your decision for Rutgers and your ability to cover the shortfall for 2 years. Unfortunately, we cannot proceed with your placement since there is no update on your candidacy status. We will write when we have the update news on the additional funding.

29 Mei 2024: A: 2024 Fulbright Master's Degree Program: Your Candidacy Status -> With regard to the status of your candidacy in the Fulbright Master’s Degree program, I am pleased to inform you that your candidacy status has changed to a principal candidate. M: accept the offer from Rutger and confirm that I have personal funding for the shortfall for 2 years through my Bank Statement I have attached.

30 Mei 2024: A: We will inform IIE accordingly. A: FY2024 Gateway Orientation & Pre-Academic Program Information.

Post Candidacy (Principal Candidate)

30 Mei 2024: A: (RSVP) SAVE THE DATE: "2024 Fulbright Awards Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO)” held on June 25-26, 2024 in Jakarta. A: Request Support Letter, Passport, and Medical Form (TB Skin test, VACCINATIONS: Polio, DPT, MMR, COVID-19) + Info on Fulbright ID

7 Juni 2024: Request foto Headshot untuk Orientasi Pra-keberangkatan Fulbright Program. Deadline 11 Juni 2024 

9 Juni 2024: Bringing Dependents After 1st Semester Confirmation

10 Juni 2024: Welcome Package for Fulbright Program PDO Participants

30 Juli 2024: A: DS2019 has arrived at aminef. plans to schedule visa interview on august 7th 2024. You can start to complete the DS160 online visa application and submit other documentations needed for your visa interview schedule process to AMINEF as soon as possible.

31 Juli 2024: M: DS160 application form completed. IIE: Webinar Reminder: Prepare for Your Fulbright Program 

1 Agustus 2024: USA: consular email A: Please send the official invitation for the visa interview once you receive it from the U.S. Consular. We will send other guidelines for the grantee to attend the interview when the invitation is available. 11 Agustus 2024: M: request early departure ke US untuk memulai akademik/perkuliahan ke TBA karena keperluan: orientasi dan cari housing by person + hendak bertanya terkait kemungkinan selisih biaya untuk mendapatkan Early Departure di tanggal 21 Agustus 2024. -> tambahan request: lokasi bandara Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) - Newark, NJ. TBA: akan proses pemesanan tiket

29 Agustus 2023: Required softcopy Terms and Conditions (TnC) as a candidate + consent letter from workplace with highest supervisor sign

30 Agustus 2023: hardcopy of signed TnC + hardcopy signed consent letter from workplace with highest supervisor sign, drop to AMINEF dropbox

1 September 2023: Guideline for Mentee: Mentoring Program to supervise 1) Study and future plans, 2) Study Objective, 3) Personal Statement, 4) University Preferences. Mentoring session September 4-19, 2023. Deadline of online application to be submitted to IIE portal on September 20, 2023 -> include 4 schools you proposed

4 September 2023: Testing Requirement and Schedule (TOEFL iBT, GRE General, GRE Subject or GMAT) and confirm participation.

27 September 2023: AMINEF Test Preparation Program (GRE): Internet Allowance -> Reimbursement

15 September 2023: GRE DAY!!

16 September 2023: TOEFL IBT DAY!!

18 September 2023: A: Submission plan from IIE. PIC kontak untuk revisi dengan arahan tambahan M: koreksi/making sure perihal review submission plan dari IIE and their school proposal. Penyesuaian dengan format fulbright AMINEF, meaning IIE kadang kurang detail.

19 September 2023: Peraturan communication with the University(s) or IIE

22 September 2023:  M: RE: SUBMISSION PLAN

31 September 2023:  M: to proceed with the submission plan + relayed my intention to do a Direct Apply to 1 university.

2 Oktober 2023: Hasil TOEFL IBT & GRE (TOEFL: 92, GRE: verbal 146, quantitative 146, analytical 2.5) 

3 Oktober 2023:  M: to proceed with the submission plan + relayed my intention to do a Direct Apply to 1 university. IIE Placement Services: Protocols for Fulbright Candidates -> include: Submission Plan Review/Approvals (The final list of U.S. institutions to which you will be applied by IIE) and negotiating period

13 Desember 2023: DRAFT support letter from AMINEF to be attached in the direct apply for another school

26 Januari 2024: Fulbright Placement Webinar Series 2024-2025: Understanding the “waiting period” during the placement process

21 Febuari 2024:  A: SUBMISSION RESULT -> Admitted to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Deadline TBA, Total cost 67.704

22 Febuari 2024: Certificate from KAPLAN Edupac

11 Maret 2023: A: SUBMISSION RESULT -> Rejection from University of Pennsylvania

12 Maret 2024: M: ask for breakdown the variable for the estimated costs for Rutgers University.

21 Maret 2024: A: breakdown cost for Rutgers University. A: SUBMISSION RESULT -> Rejection from Georgia Tech

1 April 2024: A: SUBMISSION RESULT -> Admitted to University of Florida. Deadline 18 April, Total cost To Be Announced (TBA) 

4 April 2024: M: Ask for IIE to negotiate the Shortfall (SF) into a “within grant” status by asking for either 1) higher cost-sharing offer or 2) TA/RA/other project A: We will ask to IIE to reaching out to Rutgers to negotiate additional cost-share on your behalf.

8 April 2024:  M: Please do so, as UoF deadline is approaching, as i believe will be next Monday 8/04/24 due to AMINEF's policy on 10 days before official deadline of 18th April.

8-15 April 2024: AMINEF Eid Mubarak Holidays.

12 April 2024:  A: Day-3 reach-outs to fellow candidate for their upcoming deadline on 15 April.

14 April 2024: M: URGENT: D-3 Following Deadline -> confirmation/questions about following deadline

15 April 2024: A: IIE shared the updated budget for Rutgers which include cost sharing. However, it does not eliminate the shortfall. The updated shortfall is down from $29,704 to $12,928. -> RU granted cost sharing, UoF pending cost sharing (then:  23.763). RU total cost 50.928, UoF total cost 61.763 -> need to confirm your decision on U Florida before Apr 18, RU Deadline TBA. + pertanyaan AMINEF untuk estimated personal funding A: arahan untuk membuat bank notes melalui email: Funding Documentation Accepted for Fulbright Student Visa Sponsorship M: estimated personal funding

16 April 2024: A: We are certain that IIE had done their best in negotiating cost-sharing to each university in your plan. We will forward your email to IIE for (additional) cost-sharing to Rutgers and U Florida. Please note that it is not guaranteed and you will need to pass the offer with a reply deadline of April 18 if there is no news and you could not afford any shortfall.

17 April 2024: M: ask for a breakdown of the cost to RU. Max SF i could take. Asking about contract termination from FB. A: Rutgers (#2 preference option) has already confirmed a flat tuition award of $16,776 and with this award, it reduces the shortfall to $12,928. IIE Placement requested additional cost-share and is awaiting reply. You also had admission at U Florida with a shortfall of $23,763 and the deadline is 4/18/24. Since U Florida personal balance is so large, we assume that we should let the U Florida offer expire and will wait for a funding update from Rutgers as the reply deadline is not set yet. Please let us know how you would like to proceed with this and confirm your approval to let the offer from U Florida expire.
