i mean... siora. or like. any of the yecht fradi, no lie. i think about Them as a culture a lot and she's the main rep for her people so. ig that's pretty obvious choice sorry

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)

constantin. also feels like a bit of a gimme but i can't help it he's my son and boy. i know he's mad and evil but he calls me his dearest cousin and i would kill for him

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)

please okay listen. i love aphra more than i thought i would? like she just has so much personality and i'm here for her. she does NOT get the attention she deserves in fics

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)

there aren't a lot of characters to have an obscure fave but you know i gotta pick wilhelm. he was in one sidequest for 10 seconds and i loved him so much i put him in my fic as a very important character, gave him backstory and then assigned him as part of my de sardet's personal guard so like. i saved that boy. know i must nurture him. (giving honourable mention to mev, but i don't think she counts as obscure)

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)

okay i'm not sure if it counts but: claude d'orsay. not bc i like him, the man is objectively despicable, we hear about how horrid he is from everyone who mentions him. but he makes such a fascinating character. honestly. i would play a game that was all the political intrigue of him coming into power. explain it. did he have to assassinate his way to the top? tell me about his wife's poisonous hobbies. was he secretly behind his first wife's death? (probably not but the DRAMA). shitty dad. outstanding characterisation for someone who never appears on screen once.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)

alskdfj;asd excuse you de sardet is the horse plinko. nothing goes right! everybody dies! and it's all her fault! or governor burhan. he does nothing outright mean and rude in the game but his Vibes rub me the wrong way. i don't trust him.

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)

gotta be petrus for this one. sorry petrus but i literally cannot stand this whole 'you fell in love with my birth mother and did nothing to help her and then she died under HORRIBLE and intentionally (?) vague circumstances and now you're calling me child' schtick. it's creepy. fuck off.

booasaur: I assumed they killed off Hayley because they were preparing Hope for Legacies, losing most of her people (if the CW had let her BYG Freya probably her too) and feeling guilty and burdened because of it. As for the how and why so early, I seem to recall some tensions and disagreement between Plec and Phoebe Tonkin.

I hate how, in order to have her own show they had to take away all of Hope’s support system. 

re: Plec and Phoebe Tonkin... is that why Legacies is practically erasing Hayley? I think they even erased her in a family photo, like what level of petty is this.

amiphobic: I also assumed they killed off Hayley so Hope could start off Legacies as emotionally isolated. It’s a particularly bad look to me because it’s hard to believe Kol, Freya, Rebekah (and their respective spouses) would ever let Hope feel so alone, especially now that most of them have “retired.” Given how absent Caroline has had to be, I guess it was always going to be either neglectful vs dead...

I truly hate that. She’s in a boarding school. It’s enough of an excuse for the Mikaelsons not being around, also having Klaus die would be enough of a good way to have Hope angst about losing her father!

@amiphobic That’s a really good point, about how the lighter tone is a victorious legacy. It always bothers me seeing those complaints, as if Major Character Death or repeated torture/violence makes a show good. Legacies has been more fun to watch than TVD for me because it juggles its levity and gravity better. After awhile TVD was just watching everyone suffer ad infinitum with no narrative or emotional meaning

Right? It became endless and, honestly, a slog later down the line. I think The Originals ending five seasons is the perfect sweet spot.  

The kids deserve their light hearted ridiculous and chaotic adventures. They don’t need the constant heartbreak of permanent death or having to deal with un-winnable moral quandaries that would slowly leech their happiness. Let them have their proms, their musicals, their hilarious road trips. 

Also, soon they might head to a heavier tone anyway and I feel like I’m dreading them going that route when it happens. Like Kaleb told MG, they got a long hard road ahead of them and I really want these kids to be kids, y’know?
