With a sound reminiscent of night-time beachy sadness, Amira’s sultry vocals crooning out “How do I know your feelings for me are real?” is a gift to the ears. Paired with a simple but nearly ominous instrumental, the blend it creates with the emotion in Amira’s voice is seamless.
The track deals with the reality of being young and in love while being tentative and holding back because, how are you supposed to know what love is or isn’t? My personal favorite lyric from the track is “Is this just a feeling? Too young to know”, because it hits close for any young-romantic who has been startled by the intensity of their own feelings.
The simplicity of this track is what makes it so beautiful, making it perfect for a walk on a rainy day, a warm cup of coffee on a sunday morning, or a late night spent awake laying in bed. Amira B Unveiled A Pampering Song “Do You”
Amira B is a New York City-based R&B singer-songwriter, and “head-turner” (Jukely) with unique Russian and Egyptian roots. “Her sound blends soul, R&B, and funk, and her sultry vocals over the top take everything to a new level” (Breaking and Entering).
Amira’s independently released June 2017 debut album Defined was well received by indie blogs Atwood Magazine, AXS, and The Deli Magazine. She’s been compared to artists Joss Stone, Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse, Beverley Knight and Corinne Bailey Rae (Songwriting Magazine). 2018 was a transitional year for Amira, full of self-growth and shifting to a more urban sound. The June 2018 single release “Never Gonna Fall in Love,” which charted on Hype Machine, channeled nostalgia from late 90s era urban pop, combining “raw lyrics with groovy funk vibes” (Sunset in the Rearview).
"Do You" is the first single off of her next EP available on all platforms. A song of self-love and acceptance, co-written with producer extraordinaire CARRTOONS, “Do You” is reminiscent of neo-soul singers like Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Groove Theory, and Amel Larrieux with a slightly retro & funky backdrop.
