so, amir gets roathe at the f&f table. it takes a lot convincing and a few plates of fresh-baked goods. roathe envisioned this as a child's game, so when he gets into the meat of character creation and combat he's pleasantly surprised... and intrigued. a tactics game? this, he can do quite well. that being said, the first session is a disaster. roathe doesnt really see the point in leaning into the role-playing aspect (YET) and immediately dismantles amir's main plot because he made the mistake of going for a court intrigue angle, which roathe is entirely too well-versed in. roathe also puts one of the first bosses down in one hit by using a technical loophole in the rulebook and a very intensely well thought-out character sheet. amir is caught between distress and the sheer elation of having found perhaps his dream player. the next session, things are kicked up a notch. too many notches for the hex, who pretty much all get their characters downed within a few turns. roathe has his elbows on the table. he's steepling his fingers. his tail is waving back and forth as his mind works. the session is hours longer than their usual and most of it is just them going back and forth at each other. the group decides in the aftermath that roathe is probably better suited to one-on-one sessions or contributing as a co-dm.
