It's the Perfect Time of Day - Chapter 13: Goodbye to a friend
It had been hard but she had trailed the sad procession for days. Keeping herself out of sight had been the easy part, keeping quiet and not joining them had been the hardest. While she couldn't speak she did hope that the spirit of her presence was accepted, even possibly welcomed. Not by the ones who carried the body, but by the owner of the soul. Malis had been the one to bring her out of her shell. The happy-go-lucky troll had always been one to push her out into the middle of the crowds. She had once been a dancer, one to perform before the many, one to be watched and admired. That had all changed when she was attacked doing the very thing she loved the most. The fear had crippled her even more than the sickness and yet still the troll saw through the barriers she had put up. Even when the visit to the Plaguelands had crippled her even more, sapping the little strength she had and causing her to take to an extended bed stay, Malis had been by her side, encouraging her and protecting her. But when the troll needed protecting... Rynn found her eyes fill with tears once again. Countless times during this journey she had found her sight stolen by the sadness she had felt. But journey she did, in homage to the shaman, in thanks for all she had done for her. She couldn't hate Archeon, he was no longer himself, it was her own fault that Malis had been there. If she had only stopped her some how. Maybe if she hadn't been trying to push her away so much. The warlock shook her head as she forced herself to not go down that path once more. What was done had happened, there was no way she could get her bloodsister back. Amirynth sighed deeply and collected her thoughts as she watched the small procession of trolls halt at the isle edge. Like Kiowa had promised, she had brought Malis home to Yojamba Isle to a grieving family. Rynn had never met the Vitterfolk but she recognized the bright dreads that framed the face of Malis' father. Her mother was there also, that must be who Kiowa got her looks from. The warlock sat and waited, she had over heard them saying that the funeral would take a day or so. Malis, looking as if she was just sleeping, would be laid to rest in one of the nearby huts built for the purpose. The suspicious trolls were planning on burning her body to make sure her spirit could be free and not return as one of the undead, something that was happening more frequently under the call of the Lich King. Amirynth only had a short time for which to say goodbye... Under the cover of darkness she finally made her move. Whispering quietly she cast sleep on the guard from a scroll that had been written for her to use. She would have at least a few moments before she had to get out of there. Creeping inside, the warlock let her eyes adjust to the lack of light before gasping at the sight. Malis lay there as if in sleep though she had changed greatly since Rynn had spoken to her last. She looked older, much older. Amirynth remembered them joking about their ages. Malis had always seemed so young but she had been old even before Rynn had met her. Malis had been astound when she found out that technically the warlock was older than her by quite a bit but, in turn Rynn had been amazed to hear that the troll was actually in her late forties. In life, Malis had always looked much younger than she was. It was mostly because of the child-like innocence that she carried around with her. Her open honesty would throw everyone off-guard. Now, however, the troll looked old. She had wrinkles around her forehead and eyes. The dark shadows making her face seem weathered and course. Amirynth moved forwards and ran a finger down the trolls cheek. Now in front of her bloodsister the tears didn't seem to fall. She just felt the hollow in her chest as if she was dead just like the troll before her. "I'm sorry..." It was all she could say. Even now she couldn't explain the many reasons why she had chosen the path she did. Each of them sounded pale and more like frail excuses than her first visions. She had hoped Malis would have gone off on one of her adventures and stayed out of trouble. Instead she saw the problem for what it was and did her best to fix it. She had sacrificed herself for Rynn while the warlock had sacrificed her honor and morals to save the troll. How ironic that the bigger sacrifice was the one that could not be reversed. Amirynth felt the pounding in her chest as she bent down to kiss her sisters cheek. "Malis... you were always the brightest star in the sky. Now you can join them and explore the heavens above. Maybe I'll get a letter from you... you always kept your promise to send me something from where you visited. I hope you have many more journeys, many more adventures. Don't stop now, things will go on down here. Don't worry, I am sure everyone is thinking of nice things about you. I will be ok..." Her voice cracked for a moment as she closed her eyes. "I... I will be fine, I've learned to be strong. I... I can travel without needing to stop every few hours again. I am starting to learn how to dance once more. I only wish you could be here to see it." She fell silent, continuing her thoughts in her mind. The stillness sent shivers down her spine and yet she didn't want to leave yet... The warlock took out a silken pouch where she kept her soulshards. In a special inner pocket she pulled out the wiry bright red dread that she had been given years ago. She held it in her hands and closed her eyes. For a fleeting moment she thought she could sense the spirit of the troll but realized that would be impossible. Malis' soul had been sucked into Fateweaver and would never be free to join other souls, wherever they might wander off to. The day still continued to haunt her and yet it was the dreams she had at night that caused her the most pain. It was her choice, her decision and yet she knew that if she had a chance to redo everything she would still pick the path she did. Malis died at the hands of Archeon... there were worse fates that than. She would never be raised as an undead, never live in the cold nights that had fallen the world. Malis would always be the brightest star, never tempered with the taint that covered most of the things and people Rynn saw now. Malis would never be one of the scourge, her family would see to that. It wasn't much of a gift but it was the only one Rynn could give her at this point. As if all the unspoken words had been said, Rynn found herself standing up and moving towards the door. She glanced back one last time before pushing the curtain aside and stepping out into the darkness. The guard was still sleeping and Rynn breathed a sigh of relief for those small graces. Her heart missed a beat as she turned around and saw a shadow moving in the distance. Eyes widening as she recognized the features of Malis' sister, Rynn considered stunning her and hearthing on the spot. The warlock didn't want to be the one to make Kiowa follow her sister's footsteps and stood her ground. Maybe she could find another way out of here. Kiowa was stunned more than anything upon seeing the blood elf, what gave her the right to be here? She was the reason her sister was gone. Stroking the hilt of her dagger she stepped in front of Rynn, "What are you doing here?" the troll snapped. Rynn started back, looking fearfully around to make sure no one else was going to jump her before turning back to Kiowa. "I just came to say goodbye..." She kept her tone cordial and pleasant in hopes that the sister would let her be. She did not want to be responsible for another death, especially as technically she wasn't supposed to even be here. Kiowa snorted in disbelief, after so many years of being calm and friendly, this was just too much. Before she was willing to give this elf a chance, but not anymore, "You lost the that right when you sided with the scourge." "I follow Archeon, I do not follow the LichKing." Amirynth narrowed her eyes for a moment as a surge of anger flew through her. She clenched her fist and hissed out her breath, calming herself back down. "And whether I have the right or not is up to her, not you." She pointed towards the dark opening of the hut where Malis lay. "She was always one who cared more about her friends than herself. That is why she died, even though I tried everything..." She heard her voice break and took another breath to calm the quaking inside. She had been brushed raw with her own accusations and didn't need another to open up the unhealed wounds. Amirynth let her mask fall across her face. "I came to say goodbye, I at least get to do that much in respects for the dead." She narrowed her eyes at the sister before waving a hand as if to brush her aside. "Now please move before someone gets hurt." Kiowa let herself be pushed aside, she was a healer, and did not want to fall to the corruptions of the dark like so many before her. "Never forget that you're the reason she's in there. She died for you, and nothing else, but you're still with Archeon, with her murderer, you've made her another useless casualty of war." "It isn't like I can go back..." Rynn shook her head, her mask failing enough for Kiowa to see the tears still in her eyes. "I am hunted wherever... no we are hunted wherever we go. Forgiveness is not so often given to traitors... especially not as far as he has gone. I made my choice..." The warlock looked out over the ocean as she pushed her feelings down once more. She had made the decision, had chosen to walk down that path and this was the burden she had to bare until the day that she too, was laid down under the ground. Kiowa sneered at her, "You're right, it was your choice, and people will hate you for it. I hate you for it." Kiowa forced herself to breathe, count to ten, anything to make the building rage go down, "Just leave." She didn't want to see the warlock again and yet could not attack in front of her sister, even if she wasn't really there. "I never..." She paused for a moment before narrowing her eyes at Amirynth, "I shall never forgive you for what you have done. Remember that." With a snort she turned on her heel and stalked off, not ever caring that her back was turned to the Sin'dorei. Amirynth watched her go and took a few steps back. Kiowa was right, there were a lot of people who hated her for what she had done. She didn't know where to turn to except to continue down the path she had started on. With a resolute nod towards her past she bowed her respects to the troll and turned away. It was time for her to realize her new tasks and time for her to accept the inevitable. This was who she had chosen to be and she would stick to it. She claimed loyalty towards Master Archeon and that loyalty would never falter. This was her choice and her decision and thusly had sealed her own fate.
It's the Perfect Time of Day - Chapter 11: Troll lost...?
Amirynth watched the gathering crowd as she waited for the meeting to end. She had promised to report any important motions to Master Archeon. With a smile towards Marrika she wandered over to her fellow warlock and murmured in her ear. Marrika nodded with a smile and glanced towards Elitharan as he continued to speak to the Symphony as a whole. Something about seeing the Maestro about the true meaning of the Song. Looking around again the sin'dorei noticed one of the paladins watching her. As he caught her eye he nodded slowly before beckoning her over. Rynn inclined her head in a farewell to Marrika before moving over to the bloodelf. "Hi, can I help you?" She watched him closely with her bright green eye, wondering what he had to say. "You are Amirynth correct?" The paladin was sure he recognized her from when she had her voting into the Symphony just a few days earlier. "I hope the evening finds you well?" He gave her a low bow in greeting before adding, "I am Asinity." "That I am, What can I do for you Asinity?" Rynn stood taller and was looking much better than she used to, as if she had an inner strength that had grown in the few months. Yet there was a countenance about her that seemed strained, as if she was not quite real. She smiled but it did not show in her eye, she laughed but there was an emptiness about her. It was that same smile she turned upon Asinity, as she tilted her head to the side waiting. Asinity shifted slightly before he started, "I was wondering if you knew the whereabouts of Malis. If I remember right you were close. At least that is the impression I got from talking with her." He turned slightly and looked towards the darkening skyline before turning back. "You see, Malis and I were supposed to have breakfast together but she never showed up. I was just wondering if you happened to know where she may have gone." Amirynth frowned as she heard the news. "No," She shook her head, "I wouldn't know where she has gotten too." The warlock hadn't seen her since Malis had shown up at her door to say goodbye. She fingered the necklace around her neck as a sad look appeared in her eye. "She has her own life to live now." "Where does she usually frequent? Maybe I could find her there?" Asinity tried another route. He was sure she had to still be in the city, she wouldn't just go off and hunt dragons on her own, especially not after what they had talked about. He glanced around at the others in case something else came to mind. "Maybe there is other people she could be hanging out with?" Rynn closed her eyes for a moment before staring at the palladin. "She did mention going adventuring, maybe she decided to go alone. She is a big strong troll, I am sure she can take care of herself." She didn't want to think about what could happen if that statement was wrong. Malis was good at healing though and so the warlock was sure that would suffice out in the wild. "As for other people, I am sure anyone in the guild would enjoy hanging out with her. She does happen to have a lot of friends." Rynn almost winced at that comment remembering the stares she had been recieving from some of the other guild memebers recently. "Hmmm..." The bloodelf thought for a while, "I don't really know where to start. We were going to go to Winterspring to hunt the dragons there..." Amirynth shook her head fervently. "She would know better to go there on her own. As it was between her and I..." She suddenly stopped what she was saying and glared at the ground. Taking a deep breath, Rynn looked back up. Malis was gone and she had gone alone. This was not quite planned but maybe it could still work out for the best. "I can help you find her if you wish. She can't have gotten too far, you said you were going to meet her this morning? Well, if she is on her way to Winterspring we should check there first." Asinity smiled gladly, "Its late and morning will be upon us soon, how about I meet you by the gate and we'll leave as soon as it is light?" He had worried about Malis, she hadn't been quite the same since fighting with her blood sister. He wasn't quite sure what happened, Amirynth seemed quite a nice person, just like Malis had told him... maybe Eli was right with what he had told everyone at her vote. "I hope we find her soon." Rynn smiled lightly, "I always hope that she is well. Malis is a very special troll indeed."
It's the Perfect Time of Day - Chapter 9: Saying goodbye
Malis took a step up to the familiar doorway and stopped, hand outstretched, about to open the door. No, she could no longer enter that way. Changing her hand to a fist she gently knocked on the door and hoped that the bloodelf would be in. She heard movements inside the hallway and stood back so that she wasn't looming on the doorstep. Taking a deep breath she tried to think of what she wanted to tell the person who meant the most to her. Though anything she felt she had to say left her mind as soon as the door opened... "Hello?" Rynn pulled open the door slowly, making sure to conserve her strength. She was still getting used to not having Klath around all the time but already she had managed to re-gain a small level of her past constitution. Her eyes widened as she recognized the familiar face and it took a moment to recover from the surprise. "Oh, Hi Malis. How can I help you?" She had hoped that the troll had managed to catch up with Kiowa who she had heard was leaving earlier that day for some adventure in Mulgore. Anything to keep her away from the danger that was sure to spill over any day. "Rynn... ah be havin' somet'in' t' tell ya... can ah be comin' in?" The troll felt the stab of pain in her chest as she was brushed off by the warlock. She had clung to the thought that maybe Amirynth would relent and accept her back with open arms but this seemed to not be true. Taking a deep breath she stiffened up and gripped her bag tighter. At least she would say goodbye this time and not just vanish like she had done in the past. "Ah be hopin' that maybe we can talk about a few t'ings." Amirynth looked back into the living room and winced at the mess of the place. Usually she was one to keep the living areas orderly and neat, not wanting to accidentally step on something. Since the troll left though she just hadn't had the extra energy or want to clean up and so things had just piled up. She had considered letting the demons tidy up after her but that seemed to go against her promise to no longer use them for menial things. That and, she just didn't feel the need. Turning back towards Malis she shook her head. "I'd prefer not, I have a few things I am working on in there and I don't really have much time to chat. Can I help you with anything here?" The troll was stunned into silence. She almost could not believe what Amirynth was saying. Do I hurt her so much that she doesn't want to even talk to me? Malis closed her eyes to halt the tears that threatened. "Oh, ok... Ah be guessin' ah can tell ya here t'en." It was now or never. She took a deep breath and pulled the bloodelf into a tight hug. "Amirynth... Rynn... Mah blood sister. Ya always be mah blood sister, even when ya not want mahself t' be here for ya. Ah be wantin' t' keep mah promice t' ya. Ah be wantin' t' help ya when ya need of mahself. Ya don't be wantin' mahself around anymore but that is ok. Ah be decidin' t' go an' hunt t' dragons again. Ah be writin' t' book ya told me t' write when ya be findin' out ah be learnin' t' read n' write. Rynn, mah blood sister, every time ah be writin' a new page ah be t'inkin' o' ya. Every time ah be findin' a special shinie ah be t'inkin' about ya." She paused for a moment to let go of the warlock and rumage around in her bag. "The quest ah be givin' the new member o' t' Symphony. He be helpin' mahself find special shinies. Mister Decaedo be helpin' mahself make this an ah be hopin' ya like it. It be mah gift t' ya 'cause ya always be special to mahself." Pulling out the necklace she had crafted she showed it to Amirynth with a small sad smile. This would be her last gift for a very long time. The four gems were cut only where they had been carved from the rock beds and had been woven together with bright copper wire. In the center was a heart-shaped gem that glowed with a faint purple light . Carefully Malis held it out to the warlock and hoped that she would at least accept her gift. Rynn stopped in her tracks. She reached out to the necklace with a shaking hand, over come with the wave of anguish that had swept over her. She had heard of how Malis had almost vanished from the meetings and gatherings of the guild. The troll hadn't even shown up for her vote. The whispers from some of the other members, the dark looks that were shot in her direction had haunted her. Amirynth realized she must have been away making this trinket, this delicate piece of jjewelrythat was meant for her. The bloodelf felt as if she should be flayed for how she had treated Malis but she had no other option, no other way she could see to protect her trollish-sister. I am the one who needs to follow down the dark path so that she can stay in the light. Rynn felt the familiar shuddering as her knees tried to give away and reflexively she tried to pull from the voidwalker who was no longer there. Pulling from within as Master Archeon had told her to, she took a few deep breaths to center herself and took the necklace, holding it close in her hands. "It's beautiful, Malis. Thank you." She was at a loss for words, not wanting to speak more, afraid that she would cave and plead for her to stay, plead for her to stay with her forever and keep her from being alone. "I will treasure it always." Malis almost breathed a sigh of relief as Amirynth took the necklace. She liked it. That was enough at least. Bending down until she was face to face with the warlock she smiled gently, her eyes filled with the adoration she felt for her blood sister. "Ah came by t' say goodbye. Ah be goin' tomorrow mornin' ah be huntin' t' dragons an' ah be wantin' t' stop by before ah be leavin'. Miss Litha be sayin' that ah be useful that way an' it be good for mahself." The troll rumaged around in her side pouch and pulled out her freshly patched communicator. "Just remember that ah still be here for ya. If ya be needin' mahself ya can be callin' me on t' talky stones. Ah still be keepin' mah promise to ya, even if ah be very far away. If ya ever be needin' mahself, all ya need t' do is call." She wanted to pull Amirynth into another hug but instead just stood there foolishly. There was so many things she wanted to ask but at least she had the chance to see how Rynn was doing. That at least was a gift from the spirits. She stood there not wanting to even breath, anything to preserve this moment. This moment where things could seem like they were ok. Where Malis wasn't leaving, where they could spend the evening together talking about the odd things that they used to. But then she remembered about the weakness that would plague her. The days that stretched into weeks where she was bed-ridden. The long nights when Malis would stay up to take care of her. The troll needed a better life than that. Malis needed to be able to go out, to explore, to live life to the fullest. Amirynth had found her strength, the cost was great but she would pay it if only to see Malis free of the shackles that Rynn had trapped her in. Her last gift to the troll was to get her out of the city before it was too late. "Good bye Malis, I wish you safe travels and good hunting. I will always remember you Malis Vitterfolk and I thank you for all you have done. One day our paths may cross again, I can only hope that the day will come soon." She gave the troll a quick hug and before she had a chance to loose her footing, the bloodelf caught hold of the door and stepped into the darkened room. Vitterfolk? Malis blinked for a moment before it dawned on her. Rynn wanted her to take back her old name. She would be Malis Vitterfolk once more, no longer holding ties to Delnaria. Nodding in resignation she smiled upon the retreating bloodelf. "May the spirits take care of you, Amirynth Delnaria Morningstar. I wish you safe travels and many good times to come." She turned and walked away, ready to start a new chapter to her life.
It's the Perfect Time of Day - Chapter 6: Essence of Loneliness.
Amirynth stood at the open doorway staring at the emptiness that used to belong to Malis. She knew she should have been happy. I have freed her... Now she can go and live the life she had left before she joined up with me... Slowly the bloodelf crumpled on the floor, knees crashing into the dusty wood. I have protected her from... Her hands came up to cover her face as the tears started falling, Oh fell... what have I done? Waves of sobs came upon each other as she kneeled on the floor feeling the hard grains through the thin fabric of her robes. The echo of her cries reverberated in the empty room, coming back to her as voices that seemed to haunt her. She had to do what was best. Malis would have never left her side otherwise. The shaman was the closest thing she had to family for the longest time. She had stuck with her even when her real family had turned their backs upon her. Rynn rocked back and forth on her heels as she felt the loneliness crash back in. She felt responsible for the troll's stay in the city, for her to strike out and look for a new family as she couldn't re-join her own on the island. Kiowa had come to bring her home and Malis had refused saying that she had to stay and take care of the warlock. Mails had stayed to take care of her... The warlock felt another sob rack her body as the pain in her chest stabbed a little deeper. She needs a life of her own... Hearing voices, Amirynth looked up for a moment, her cheeks glistening in the candlelight. The communicators spoke once again, a clamor of voices each filled with worry and care. The warlock looked over to her bag where it had dropped and reached out for the stone to turn it off before she halted in her movements as the trolls voice spoke into the room. "Mah sister, mah A-mi-rynth, she not be needin' mahself anymore! Why she be sayin' that?" Malis' anguish filled the room with a savagery that cut into the bloodelf. "It's not that I need to... I need to protect you! You need to live you're own life, not mine!" Rynn felt the pain lance into her chest as she called out, knowing no one could hear but herself. "I need to talk to that child," Archeon's voice rang clear as Amirynth quailed slightly. If he was angry with her then she really would be alone. Before she always had Malis to turn to and now she had pushed that away. Why couldn't Malis understand this was for her own good? She didn't care whether she lived or died, she had lost hope that the troll would ever find a cure. Amirynth knew that the troll's life was a almost a heartbeat compared to her own. She didn't want to tie the shaman down. Rynn wanted Malis to find her family again, to find her daughter, find her siblings and maybe even re-unite with Voodoo one day. The memory of that evening came back to her as she listened to the voices calling for Malisl in the background... * * * * * * * * * * * * "You mean... you left suddenly? Why didn't you... want to tell... anyone?" Amirynth lay on the bed watching the troll as she wet the cloth down and moved to place it on her forehead. "Ah not be wantin' him t' follow mahself. He be wantin' t' see me but ah dunno... Ah guess ah be scared, not be wantin' t' settle down an' such." Malis sat on the bed and looked out of the window, the morning sun finally streaming through the glass. It had been a long night but the fever was finally back down which relived her. "Ah didn't want t' confront him. Ah be feelin' bad that ah not be interested. So ah be leavin' to strike out mah own fortune. One day ah be comin' back, ah sure they not be missin' mahself." Rynn shook her head slightly with a frown. She didn't understand the troll leaving a family who loved her but accepted it. "Well, I am kinda... glad that you... decided to leave. I..." Rynn took another deep breath, "I... would never have... met you otherwise." She smiled weakly as the troll tended on her. "You have... done so much... for me. I wish... I could find... some way to... repay you." Malis grinned down at the bloodelf, "Nah, ya not need t'e be replayin' mahself. But ya know, if ya really wanna do somet'in' for mahself. Ah wanna see ya dance one day. Ah promise ya that ah be takin' care of ya until that day an' then ya be dancing for mahself ok?" She removed the cloth from the Sin'dorei and wrung it out, washing it in the fresh water before replacing it. "Ya tell me that ya be such a dancer, ah wanna be seein' that. Ah wanna see ya dance again." "But... what about... you? What if... what if it takes... what if... it never happens?" The warlock looked at her friend with a worried expression. "Promise me... that you will... go back home... That you will... talk to Voodoo... Tell him how... you really feel..." "Ah will go back home when t' time be right. But until then ah be here t' take care of ya! Even if it be forever. Ah promise ah be here for ya no matter what. That be makin' mahself ya blood sister." Malis took the necklace that she had made out of the dragon's claws they had fought together and with a sharp knife she cut into the palm of her hand. At Rynn's nod she did the same to the pale hand of the Sin'dorei and pressed them together, the dragon's claw between them. "There now we be sisters forever an' ever. There be no breakin' this bond until death be makin' us part. Now ya be always 'avin' someone there for yaself." Amirynth smiled and leaned back feeling the heat of the troll close by and the aura of protection that seemed to cover her. The cut on her hand stung but it was soon replaced with the warm glow that emanated from the shaman's healing spells. She would become strong for Malis so that they both could go home and see the world together. She would dance again, she was sure it was only a matter of time... * * * * * * * * * * * * Time... It was time. Amirynth heard the voices come for Malis, call for her and take care of her. The troll had people, she had a family to go to but she had people here too. Rynn had not left her alone and had protected her from what would be happening but she did not realize how hard it would be to let her go. The ache within her chest grew as she felt herself become left behind. This was for the best. It is better this way. As long as she is take care of, as long as she can be free to live her own life. That is what matters. That is... The warlock tried to pull herself together. She had to be strong for the world. She had promised that she would learn how to dance again... no matter what the costs. She knew where the strenth lay, she just needed to reach out and touch it. She needed to grasp at it and pull it into her. She would learn how to dance once again for Malis, for herself, for the family she lost all those years ago. She would learn to dance so that promises would not longer be broken.
It's the Perfect Time of Day - Chapter 4: Voices in the dark...
"She said I have changed, that I was no longer myself. She was right, I -have-changed. I am no longer weak willed, no longer one with no strength. I have found, no, you have shown me there is hope in the darkness." The warlock stood straight, her good eye flashing a brilliant green as she spoke with a vehemence so unlike herself. "You have done so much for me. You have shown me how to regain my strength once more. I was weak, pitiful, now I can stand on my own and not depend on the demons every moment of the day. For the freedom you have given me I would walk through fire if you requited it of me." Suddenly she spun on her heel and threw her arm out at Klathgrave who had been skulking behind her. With a snarl in demonic she banished him before turning back towards her watcher. "Now I can stand tall without aid. I am on the path to becoming the person I used to be. For this, Master Archeon, I shall stand by your side and follow down your path. The scene changed, snarls of scourge scrambling over her senses. She felt a dark fog overcome her filled with rotting limbs, hungry sunken eyes, and ravenous teeth moving towards her. Slinking back she called for her demon and yelled insults in demonic towards them. She lithely dances from side to side, evading their clumsy movements. Quickly the bloodelf turned and pulled shadows from Klath before hurling them at the misshapen bodies. Again and again she struggled against the masses before the warlock felt herself slip, her control over the voidwalker lessening as she heard his whisperings grow louder. Amirynth yelled in anger and frustration as she pulled hellfire from within and rained it down on friend and foe alike. Anything, anything to get free of the nightmare that surrounded her. And then it was silent. The chilled wind blew around her as the Sin'dorei stood on a lonely hill. She turned to see her mentor gazing at her with stern eyes that seemed to reflect the ice around them. She watched as he raised one gloved hand and felt more than heard the metallic sounds of the voicebox... "Are you with me?" Amirynth jolted upright in her bed breathing heavily. Her pillow was drenched in sweat and she felt her heart race as if she had just been running. Slowly she blinked the dreams away until the room came into focus, the gale glow from the moon illuminating shadows that swirled around her bed. "Klath?" she spoke in a low voice that almost shook with tension into the darkness, "Check the area please." "As you wish..." came the whispered reply.
