Have you read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? The Millennium Trilogy is awesome, yeah she does have some romance, but she's like bisexual and open. I think Lisbeth's overall attitude is "I'll survive whether or not I have to bloody my own hands"
I have read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but just the first one (I read it in one day on a very loonggg car trip), we own the others but I haven't read them yet lol. I really liked Lisbeth too, she's definitely the tough as nails survive at any cost sort, but I felt like she wasn't the lead so much as the subject. It's a good series, all the same, and it's been a while since i read the first and I should definitely go and read the rest...
