Daniel of Mayfair HCs (Amnesia: The Dark Descent)
General HCs:
Daniel is #nervous most of the time. Has a terrible habit of grinding his teeth when the anxiety threatens to overwhelm.
Will check the locks more than once on his way out the door.
Likes to light a lot of candles. Not only does it drive the darkness out of a space, but their warmth eases his mind. There’s something mesmerizing about the gentle flicker of a flame.
Daniel is also a bit flighty, a result (TW) of the abuse he suffered as a child. Not a fan of loud noises, or loud people, for that matter.
Naturally curious and inquisitive. Asks a lot of questions and wants to make sure he understands whatever he’s hearing or learning about.
Personally, I think Daniel would be pretty buff. Between all of the grunt work Alexander had him doing, as well as his life as an archaeologist before, boy’s gotta have some muscles. Or at least broad shoulders!
Easily irritable. I don’t see it taking much to tick Daniel off, and his reactions are easily missed. His jaw may clench, or his shoulders may tighten, but he tries to keep it largely to himself. Doesn’t fancy conflict.
When he does get into some kind of argument though, his words can end up being quite hurtful. Daniel often doesn’t recognize the venom in his own words until they’ve already spilled from his lips.
Sucker for a hot bath and other small luxuries.
Relationship HCs (SFW):
Daniel would prefer a s/o with a calm or quiet demeanor. It would be the perfect compliment for his nervous ticks.
I think Daniel would be quite the romantic, to be honest, and for him it comes in the form of acts of service. Stuff like fixing your tea in the morning, taking care of chores he knows you hate...He’s always asking what he can help you with. <3
Love letters. Will leave them around the house for you to find later. Not only does Daniel have beautiful handwriting, but the way he strings words together is nothing short of poetic.
Expect lots of terms of endearment like “my darling” or “my precious.”
Really enjoys having someone to hold at night. He’s subject to pretty awful nightmares, and can handle them himself, but having someone to cling on to is a medicine all its own.
Tends to be the one in the relationship who needs a bit of extra validation. He’s confident in himself, but worries that his partner could easily find someone “less complicated” than him.
In that same vein, he would be very loyal, almost to a fault. Remind him to take time to tend to his own wants and needs.
