She found herself developing less patience with the Prince of... hm, it already seemed to slip her mind of exactly who he was- this man was constantly getting himself into trouble. Often times she was there to hinder him from continuing forth, but it was the one night Lightning turned her back to actually rest was the night he decided to slip off in the night. A curious thing. The worry of him trying was what had woke her up from a not so restful sleep, it was when she checked his chamber was when she had learned he was no longer where he should have been, to begin with. Spending a week with him, she hadn't expected he would make it this far.

Leave it to royalty to feel they could do as they please, even if they were in the province of another King. 

Her loyalty resided with King Regis, and it was he, who requested her to keep an eye on him, for whatever reason it may have been it did not matter. She was to observe and defend, both of which she felt she had failed at when she had finally found the young male out of the Citadel, out on the streets with a mark on his face that was going to bruise as she had pointed out. 

His enthusiasm in the bruise was... not as she had anticipated, but it was when he removed the mask that often blanketed the lower half of his face was when Lightning felt... shocked. Where would he have gotten such marks? Why would he have been given them... he had mentioned of no wars or battles, yet here he stood revealing something that he went out of his way to hide. "I see..." Her thoughts seemed to jumble at the sight, there was more to him than meets the eye- but there is was the confirmation she needed. 

A hand reached out, firmly grasping his wrist to pull him back towards her. Lightning looked around to make sure there was no one nearby to hear her speak to the 'Prince', "It's funny, your introduction in front of the King was not this... Amon Leclair." Though her voice was soft for the whisper there was a growl hidden behind it. "So tell me, who are you, and why are you here."

Prompto was taken back by the sudden question thrown at him moments after his own. Did it matter who he was? He was simply asking how he had managed to get such a nasty looking black eye. "I'm Prompto... I don't believe we've met before." He admitted, offering a sheepish smile while his hands glided into his jean pockets. "I had seen you over here when passing by with my buds, wanted to make sure you were okay." He paused for a moment, watching as the other male seemed to relax and sit down, Prompto finding himself following the same motion and taking a seat across from him.

"Sorry if I bothered you... or uh... still am. What kind of fight... did ya win?" He smirked a bit before being questioned about his father. The memories of meeting Verstael for the first time had caved their way into his mind and threatened to bring forth emotions he rather not. "I uh... don't really know. A nobody most likely."

“You will die for the King of Light, Amon. Your death will help usher the world back into the light.”

Amon finally got the chance to meet Noctis in the midst of a battle and all he could do was stare in shock. This---this ‘boy’ was the ‘Chosen King’ who was to deliver the world from darkness? It couldn’t be. He wasn’t anything more than a child who seemed uninterested in their school lectures. “Gods.” The purple haired male whispered to himself. “Bahamut has really made a mistake this time.” He took a step forward and passed by all of the fallen magitek until he stood only a few feet from the prince. Of course, he couldn’t approach him without his friends standing in front of him to inquire about who Amon was. He had expected as much---in fact, he had been briefed on his cousin’s ‘friends’.

“You are Noctis Lucis Caelum?” The soldier asked with a tilt of his head, blue hues scanning the boy with curiosity. The Crystal had seriously chosen him as the one who would save them all? Amon almost wanted to laugh and inform his friends that they were putting their faith in the wrong person. “Do you know who I am, Noctis?”

That was a stupid question of course. Noctis probably knew nothing of him or of his father’s past within the Lucian bloodline.  How much was Amon to reveal to the prince? Would revealing anything ruin any of Bahamut’s revelations? Maybe if he told him the truth, Noctis could ensure his own victory. Maybe he would ‘wake up’ from his childish inhibitions. “I haven’t got the time to give you a full rundown on who I am, unfortunately….but I’ll allow you to commit me to memory.”

Amon reached up and removed the mask from his face, revealing the scars underneath. He saw a few of the boy’s friends wince, but he ignored them. The stares of people when they saw his true face had grown old a long time ago. “I am the son of someone that you have met.” There were inquisitive looks on the group’s face but he did not elaborate any further. “And you know who quite well. In fact, we’re cousins!” He replaced the mask on his face and sighed heavily.

“I do not want to die for a child who is scared of his own shadow.” Amon began to take a few steps back toward the airship that had carried him there. He tilted his head again and made a disappointed ‘tsk’. “Grow up. That’s all the advice I can give you, cousin. Life is about to get quite difficult for you. For all of us.” He motioned to Noctis’ friends standing nearby. “I’m rooting for you. Don’t disappoint us.” He boarded the ship but kept his eyes on the prince. It was such a curious, curious thing how the Crystal worked. It chose who it liked and who it deemed the best fit for the jobs ahead.

Could it be wrong this time?

No. Amon decided that it couldn’t. Noctis just hadn’t bloomed into the man he was supposed to be, yet. In time, everything would come to a full circle and everyone would fulfill their destinies.

      It had only occurred to her moments after speaking that perhaps asking her younger sibling such a thing was... useless. The two of them were cursed in separate ways, Amon, a short miserable existence. Herself, a long one, with the truth of what was to come and what had once been. It was her burden to carry and her knowledge remained with herself only. "Ah, you're right." A hand reached out, offering a gentle pat to his cheek as she forced her frown into a gentle smile.

     "You'll know peace one day, even if it is in death besides her. But remain, patient dear, Amon. All of our time is nearing." Evelynn paused for a moment at the mentioning of their father, "I prefer not to ask him of his past. We've all felt happiness once, it was in the crossing of fate for us to end up... so miserable... I suppose."

“Ebony….” Amon reached for the black haired woman and then pulled his hand back from her. No---doing something gentle such as caressing her face or pulling a strand of hair behind her ear, wouldn’t help things right now. It would only give Ebony hope. No, to do what needed to be done, Amon had to sever all ties with those he loved. “It’s been….a good two years.” He smiled to himself as he stepped back onto the balcony.

“But I find that I can no longer hold on.” He shook his head. “My mind isn’t what it was two years ago when we met. It’s becoming something ugly, something that I never wanted it to be. There’s not much longer until I forget even you.” That was the hardest part of all of this---forgetting. He didn’t want to forget who he used to be. Those memories of his past were the ones that kept him going in trying times, but now they were all fading.

Once he was on the balcony, he turned from the woman and looked to the lush gardens below. “Tell my father that I hate him. I hate having his blood inside of me. It’s his blood that I’m spilling tonight. I’m cleansing myself from having to associate with him.” From Amon’s side, he drew a dagger and steeled himself from turning around to see Ebony’s expression. He didn’t know what he would do if he seen her face.

Silver glinted in the moonlight as the man brought the knife up to his throat. “Goodnight, Ebony Nox.”

A deep breath was taken in, slow and steady while her gaze remained focused on something out in the distance. The sun’s final moments were in the sky, it was setting 3 hours early than it normally would, this would be due to the loss of yet, another Oracle. The way of the Astrals was playing out, and soon, the end would come for those of the Lucian family… and light would be restored. “In all due time, Amon, in all due time.” There was a moment where her eyes closed, but once they opened she looked to him, “Please, try to hold on a little while longer.” There was a bitterness she felt in the way fate was playing out for all when she looked to Amon. Why was it his path had to be paved like this?
