Trooper Amon again. My Regiment just got the order to embark transports for redeployment. In helping the Munitorium load up the paperwork I found my name in the casualty list. Naturally the thought of taking advantage of this convenient circumstance, deserting, and finding a pretty girl to settle down with, start a farm, raise a family, and eventually pass peacefully in my own bed rather than a soggy trench covered in the blood of my friends never crossed my mind. But am I still getting paid?

Go to your regiment’s administrative officer and let him or her know of this unfortunate mistake, otherwise, no you won’t get your pay.

PS : Good you weren’t thinking about any of that, I had my hand on the grip of my pistol the whole time. What an anxious read!

Hi, Trooper Amon again. How do you drink on the job when you are acutely aware there's a Commissar never more than 10 meters away. Asking for a friend.

The only drinking allowed is after victory* trooper!

*Or when your officers allow it (like just before a planned heroic charge).

This being said, you can still try to pour some victory-vodka into your canteen and pretend it’s water, just don’t go drinking too much out of it, it would raise suspicion*.
