And I am too depressed about politics to write my usual shlock. (Given my normal strategy of “exaggerate things to their logical extreme then pick up the pieces” no longer works when the Real World manages to be both worse and more stupid.) So, this year I’m doing a “Clean Up” of all my WIPS.

Korrasami becoming canon is enough evidence for me that if Amon and the Lieutenant were PROPERLY respected characters, Lieumon definitely could've become/happened. You don't just dedicate your life to anyone, you know. Not even friends or role models, especially when you've been as discriminated against as the non-benders and equalists have.

The original script of Book 1 of The Legend of Korra actually ended with Amon surviving, however, he and the Lieutenant attended relationship counseling.

The Lieutenant: He's a bender and he didn't even tell me.

Amon: He kept getting his ass handed to him by the Avatar.

Lieutenant: He says he wants equality, but he's actually a tyrannical douche canoe.

Amon: He won't trim his mustache, even after I told him it was uncomfortable during sex.

Lieutenant: HE WEARS CURLERS TO BED!

Amon: WAIT... it's not what you think...

Lieumon has been inactive for at least a month now. It's a shame, this was my first ship I ever set sail on and it's already sank. But I understand, if Book 1 of TLOK would've been longer and maybe added more depth to their characters (specifically the Lieutenant) and the Equalists plot, it'd have a larger impact. Oh well, I still adore these two to death. The wasted potential in these beautiful characters ;-;
