So I left my job of four years to come to this one. There were many reasons behind it, less stress being the chief among them.
However, since September I've dealt with (not including what others have dealt with) police 5 times, been cursed at, told I'm stupid, found two 17 year olds in our managers office (yes, they even went through all of our belongings-i felt violated), handled 3 massive Lego thefts, and been screamed at by a geriatric security guard because I said "Bud" (I call everyone bud, it's nbd to me). The amount of blatant disregard for rules, the destruction of private property, the petty thefts and shoplifting.........
I'm just. Tired. Almost defeated. I love this job and what I do, but if this area and store don't get cleaned up soon, I fear fire the integrity of the place.
I've already decided to not go higher in the totem pole. I don't want it anymore, I already took a 10$ pay cut to be here. So, actually, I'm stressed AND broke, more power wouldn't fix either of those.
I suppose it's time to start trying to focus the store! Let the job be secondary to that. It is the goal, after all, to have Amon Harach be my primary job! Faires, online store, and one day, even a brick and mortar establishment.
Can I turn this dream into a reality by putting myself into an action plan that doesn't involve my employer? Can I succeed in the ultimate dream for myself?
