I so badly want to get into wire wrapping! It’s something I had a lot of fun doing and was improving before I gave up, so I’m posting it here to hold myself to it!
All wire wrapping seen was done by me!
Tools Exist for Good Reason
I don't know why I haven't tried this before.
Wire-wrap socket id tags are a thing that exist. They slip around the pins on the under side of the board and number the pins to help keep track while wiring. They come in different socket sizes with pre-cut pin holes and numbering. They have of course gotten expensive and difficult to find, just like everything else related to wire wrap.
But I've got a rotary paper trimmer and an 0.3mm mechanical pencil; I can just make my own easily enough for a small project like this!
The trickiest part is keeping everything lined up while punching the holes. I used a piece of perfboard and a header strip for the purpose. It worked well enough.
The tags do make a big difference. Not only is it easier to keep track of which pin I'm working on out of the sea of hundreds, it also gives some contrast to help my eyes focus.
I would like to try more precise means of production. Any modern printer could handle printing the numbers on cardstock legibly at this scale, but cutting the tiny pin holes would be a challenge. I'm not sure the library's Cricut is up to the task. Perhaps the laser cutter?
MORE! MORE WIRE WRAPPING!!!
The last two I made just yesterday. They're not made of anything expensive like the others are, so I felt like experimenting a bit. I like the purple and black one (the main "stone" is actually a really dark red glass garden stone), and the other I liked how some parts came out, but not others (it just fells too messy/busy to me.)
I'm actually running out of my good wire, so uh, expect more wacky wraps in the near future as I throw some stuff at the wall and see what sticks XD
These wire wrapped pendants (and more!) for sale on my eBay shop!

Was looking through some things, and I found where I hid these from myself. Some of my experiments with wire wrapping from my solar commutes. I liked how these ones turned out, but I don't have a great place to set them out so they'll probably get added to my trinket trading bag. Maybe some folks will see them at our Renaissance Festival or some conventions next year.
