Late February Amos Diggory’s Flat { @amxsdxggory }
Initially, when Albus’ owl had pulled Minerva out of bed at 6am on a Sunday (the only day she allowed herself to sleep in--until 7), she had been annoyed. Highly annoyed. Sunday was her day off, her day to herself, her day to sleep and rest and visit with family. Sunday was not for being called into Albus’ office first thing in the morning like a misbehaving student. But those feelings of annoyance had quickly evaporated when he informed her that Amos Diggory (with his son) was back in London and ready to report for Order duty. Sure, that news probably could have waited another hour, but Minerva was grateful for the information nonetheless.
She was even more grateful for the knowledge that Amos had asked after her. That was all she needed to hear to send her to his flat in London, fully dressed and prepared for the day, all before 10 in the morning. Minerva had understood why it was that Amos had disappeared, of course. He had a son to think about. Things had been dangerous then, scary, terrifying, especially for a parent. Even she had been kidnapped by the Death Eaters, and the dreams that had haunted Amos were enough to send even the strongest man running, especially if those dreams revolved around Cedric as Minerva was certain they did. But she couldn’t deny that she had been sad to lose him, nor that she had missed Amos and Cedric terribly.
Minerva had become quite close to Amos ever since he had become a father. Though he had been a bit of a troublemaker in his Hogwarts days, he had always been a mostly respectful student, but the high esteem she had for him now had been earned after she saw the way he stepped up to be a father to that little boy. As a fellow member in the Order, she had grown to care deeply for Amos, and Cedric was so adorable that he could win over even the hardest heart with just one cheeky smile. It was the thought of that cheeky smile that caused Minerva to knock so forcefully on the door of Amos’ flat that she winced, worried it would frighten Amos. When the door swung open, it revealed Minerva with a sheepish smile.
