Summary: You Help Dye Gavi Hair Pink And You Were Inspired To Go For Pink On Your Hair.
A/N: Late Birthday Gavi Post. Please Follow, Like, And Reblog.
“You are absolutely sure about this?” Gavi stared at himself in the bathroom mirror. Then at you and at the box of pink hair dye sitting on the counter. “Yes baby.” He narrowed his eyes. “You’ve done this before?” You nodded confidently. “Of course.” “How many times?”“That is irrelevant.” Gavi laughed. “That’s not reassuring.” You picked up the dye brush. “Sit down please.” He sighed dramatically. “Okay, hairdresser.” You smiled. “Don’t move.”
Twenty minutes later, Gavi was sitting patiently while you worked the pink dye through his hair. He kept trying to look at himself in the mirror. “Stop moving.”“I’m curious!” “You’ll see it when I’m done.” “What if it looks terrible?” “You’ll still have me.” He smiled. “That’s true.” You continued carefully working through his hair.“You know~” “Hmm?” “I like it.” “The pink?” “Yeah.” You smiled. “I think it’ll look really good on you.” He looked at you through the mirror.n“You think everything looks good on me.” “Because everything does.” “You’re just saying that.” “Nope nothing but the truth from me.” You leaned down and kissed his cheek. “And yes I’m serious.”
After you finished, you wrapped his hair carefully. “Now we wait.” “How long?” “Thirty minutes.” “Thirty?” “Yes.” He groaned. “That’s forever.” You laughed. “You’ll survive.” He looked at you. “What are you doing while we wait?” You smiled. “Something.” “What?” “You’ll see.”
Thirty minutes later, you washed his hair. Gavi stared into the mirror and his eyes widened. “Oh.” You smiled.“You like it?” He turned his head from side to side. “I actually really like it.” “I told you.” He ran his fingers carefully through his hair. “It’s bright.” “That’s the point.” He looked at you. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” Then he noticed something. “…Wait.” “What?” “You have pink hair too.” You smiled innocently. “Maybe.” “Since when?” “Since you inspired me.” He stared at you. “You didn’t tell me.” “I wanted us to match.” His expression immediately softened. “You did this because of me?”
You nodded. “You could say that.” He stepped closer “So we’re matching?” “Sure are.” He smiled. “That’s cute.” “You think?” “Yeah.” He wrapped his arms around you. “I like it.” You laughed. “Good.” He kissed your forehead. “My pink haired girl.”
Later that evening, you both took a picture together. Gavi posted it with no caption only a pink heart. Within minutes, his phone started exploding with notifications.bHe looked at the screen. “Oh no.” You laughed. “What is it babe?” “Everyone is seeing.” “That we’re matching?” “Yeah.” He showed you the comments. His teammates were already teasing him. “You’re never going to hear the end of this.” “I don’t care.” He looked at you. “I like matching with you.” You smiled. “Even if everyone makes fun of you?” “Especially then.” He pulled you closer. “Because they can make fun of my hair.” He kissed your cheek. “But they can’t make fun of how much I love you.”
You smiled. “You’re getting cheesy.” “I learned from you.” “You’re welcome.” He laughed. Then looked at your matching pink hair. “You know what?” “Hmm?”“We should keep matching like this.” You smiled. “I was thinking the same thing.” He squeezed your hand. “Pink suits us.”
next week's fic its already decided (mikel oyarzabal) but then for the next one i have two ideas with the same trope of childhood friends to lovers, and i want you guys to decide which one i write first:
i will post a ferrán x pedri x reader after the world cup final on sunday! i wanted to write something for pedri as well, based on a spanish song, but if you want to request something for ferrán, pedri or gavi, feel free to send an ask!
summary: You're invited to your best friends wedding in which she told you to bring bring a plus one, but you ended up not doing so.... instead you met someone
warnings: first person pov, fluff!!, (asking for)consent, drinking (alcohol), reader is not from Spain (just knows a bit of the language, you don't need to tho), spanish phrases used, Gavi speaks good english (better than irl), he can dance - you not so much, teaches you basic bachata, oc friend group, not proofread!!
a/n: in celebration of the world cup and recently reading a fic about him and Pedri coincidentally, it brought be back to my hyperfixation from years ago 😫 so I felt like writing something hehe
I somehow always loved going to weddings. It's always so nice to see everyone's traditions and cultures clash on one another. Meeting new people and eating (and drinking) a lot is also a bonus.
But this one was special. My best friend, Julia, was getting married. I was so excited for it, I felt like I was the one getting in that white dress.
It was extra especial because she was marring a Spanish guy, Antonio, in Spain.
Of course, I know Antonio. He's a good guy. The best (for her). And since Julia doesn't have much family, but he does, they fairly decided to have the wedding in Spain.
I'm honestly not mad at all. I love the country and it's so much nicer there.
The flight and everything went well.
Since I am a maid of honor, I have some duties. Drinks and music is my thing so that's what Julia put me in charge for.
Hiring a pretty good DJ. One who plays songs that's totally their vibe and taste, so I just knew I had to book her.
Making sure all of their favourite drinks and popular cocktails will be available at the bar. And my favourite, for sure.
I did all that.
But what I didn't do was look for a plus one.
Was it the stress? Maybe. Or was it just the fact I didn't want to look for one and rather just go alone? Probably.
Whatever my reason was, Julia was pissed.
"I told you to bring someone. I wouldn't want you to drown in your planing," Julia eclaimed as she realised I came alone.
"But I am not. I planned everything perfectly," you explained defencless.
"I meant in drinking the whole night and dancing to the music."
"Now what is wrong with that?", you asked slightly shocked by that statement.
"Nothing. But it's sad to do alone," she emphizied.
I knew what she meant. Obviously I knew. But she still had to reason to rill up on it.
"Julia, it is your wedding day. I don't want you to be bothered by this tonight. And besides? I'd rather attend your wedding alone than with some random guy."
She finally came around and saw my point. With a deep sigh she nodded, fixing her dress as the hairdresser put her finishing touches to Julia's hair.
"Okay, fine. But you better mingle with Antonio's family and friends. I want you to meet them. Or new people in general. Just- no stupid stuff," she said the last bit pointing a finger at me.
I just laughed with a nod, "Okay. I will. Promise."
The reception was beautiful. I cried way to many times to let my makeup to stay in place. But I didn't care. I was obviously sitting on Julia's side which had to be shared with Antonio's friends. Most of them where Julia's friends by now as well.
But I obviously had no time to meet any of them. Just greeted the ones I knew. I knew I had time for that at the after-party anyway.
A beautiful location honestly. I remember the day Julia and Antonio showed me their options. I knew if they wouldn't be having their wedding there, I would. Not that I have a reason to have my wedding in Spain, but still.
Before everyone would arrive I and some other maid of honor's and best man made sure everything we individually organised was right. I talked to the DJ and bartenders back and forth, basically being in my element.
I heard people chatter in Spanish in the background but I had no clue what they were saying. I just curiously turned around to spot Antonio talk to, probably one of his best men.
Honestly, I was so in my own head I couldn't bother less.
Things started to being. People arriving. Gifts being placed at the gift table. Drinks getting handed out. Everything went smoothly.
After Julia changed to her backup dress she came over to me.
Vibing to the reggaeton and 90s-2000s hit tunes with a cocktail in my hand. Julia just laughed at me, shaking her head.
"You can't seem to listen to me for once, huh?"
My eyes widen immediately as I registered what she was saying. Shit.
"Shit, I was so in my own head-", I tried to explain myself but she gave me no chance.
"And you're done with that!", she said nudging my shoulder, "Finish that and then get out there."
Following Julia's gaze towards the dance floor my eyes widen again. I haven't realised how many people are out there. I guess more people came now than there where at the reception.
"Damn," I mumbled and she just laughed.
"You're gonna find someone to talk to."
I laughed, "Obviously, I will."
"Someone new," she added in a beat.
Sighing I nodded, "I get it. Fine."
With one last big sip I drowned my drink, placing the glass on the bar and shooting Julia a mean look and showing her my middle finger. All banter, of course.
"I love you too," she yelled after me as I vanished into the loud dancefloor.
I got lost in the crowd of people faster than thought. All new faces.
Until I saw one of Antonio's brothers, I luckily met way before. Simon.
"Simon! Finally a familiar face," I said laughing as I gave him a soft left and right cheek to cheek. A normal Spanish greeting I picked up around his family.
He returned the favour and smiled widely as he said my name, "Just say you missed me."
"Alright, maybe I did," I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
He sighed and nudged my shoulder. We kinda have a playful banter.
"So where is Alec?", I asked, curious to know where his boyfriend was.
"Oh, he's getting a drink. By the way, he will thank you for the cocktail options. He's obsessed."
I laughed as I nodded remembering the menu has some cocktails they like, "You are more than welcome. I thought about you two as I picked some options."
Simon dramatically put his hand on his chest, "Oh my god? Really? Now I feel flattered."
I laughed as I nodded, "Oh, you should."
"I guess I have to make the most of it and get a drink too then," he said as he already looked into the direction of the bar.
Chuckling I looked that way too. I know I just finished a drink but I was already thinking about drowning in another.
"Maybe you should... have fun," I just agreed, nudging into the direction.
"You're one of a kind. Go have some fun too," he put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed it.
I knew he meant well. And I knew he was right. Well so was Julia.
As soon as Simon went on to Alec, I sighed and turned to the DJ, making my way to her.
I figured I'd have to check on her too.
Dancing my way through the crowd, I couldn't even get to the front before someone brutally bumped into me.
I lost my balance faster than I could safe myself.
Before I knew, I fell into someone's arms before I could hit the ground.
Instinctively I shut my eyes expecting a hard and rough ground landing. But feeling soft arms wrapped around me, people gasping and cheering, I finally heard a soft voice talk to me.
"Ay, todo bien? Are you alright?"
I carefully opened my eyes, as everything hit me.
Shit, he is cute. I thought as my eyes adjusted to the light again.
"Uh- yeah. I am fine. Thanks to you," I said as I tried my best to stay collected.
He just laughed and nodded, "Yeah, you basically fell for me."
His Spanish accent was thick, but I noticed he was trying his best. And it made me swoon even more.
Laughing nervously, not really sure if the double meaning in his words were intentional, I noticed he was still holding me, so I got up.
"You could say so," I just bluntly said, not really thinking.
He was almost disappointed that I got up so quick but he covered it up, "I'm Pablo. Most people call me Gavi though. A short form from my last name."
Smiling I told him my name. He softly repeated my name and hearing it in his accent made me almost fall again.
"I'm sorry for falling on you, someone pushed me and everything happened so fast," I tried my best to excuse myself but he would barely let me.
"It's okay. It's not your fault. And you are not hurt, so that's all that matters," he said with a lopsided grin.
"Yeah, thank you again," I added, nodding, as I slightly took his appearance in. It made me realise he was one of Antonio's best man.
"It's my pleasure," he added before doing the same. Probably realising I was Julia's maid of honor as well.
"Wait- were you one of Antonio's-", I couldn't even finish before he agreed.
"Yes. I am his best friend. And you were one of Julia's-", I cut him off too now.
"Yes. I am her best friend."
As we both realised what we were saying we started laughing and smiling like two maniacs.
"What a coincidence," I laughed out as we both came back to our senses.
"Yeah. So crazy," he easily agreed.
For a moment it got quiet between us, the music and chatter being heard again but I didn't want that. I rather spoke up again.
"Hey- uhm- can I buy you a drink? Like a thank you for saving me?"
He chuckled and nodded, "Aren't the drinks for free anyway?"
Shit. I almost forgot. But I played it cool with a giggle, "Ugh, you know what I mean." Waving my hand dismissively.
Pablo had a wide smirk on his face as he nodded, "Yeah, I know."
I sighed in relief and with a wide smile I nodded towards the bar, "Shall we?"
With a smile and nod he followed close behind. The crowd was thick and almost wanted to separate us. In the heat of the moment I extended my hand and he took a hold of it so we couldn't loose each other.
I felt my cheeks immediately redden but I just looked straight ahead to the bar. Getting closer to it the crowd got smaller, but we continued holding hands just until we stopped in front of it.
Carefully letting go, I turned around to look at him. I prayed my cheeks were a less redder shade by now.
"So what can I get you?", I offered playfully as I gestured towards the menu that was written down on a small chalkboard on top of the bar.
He smirked faintly as he got closer and examined it.
"Hmm, so many good options to chose from."
His face showed how concentrated he looked at the menu.
"I know. I picked them."
His eyes widen as he turned his head to look at me.
"You?", he sounded surpried.
"Yes, me. 's that so hard to believe?", I replied in a mock sassy tone, crossing my arms over my chest.
"No- no-", Gavi tried to correct me, "...not that. I just- expected Pepé to be in charge of it."
I know him. That's Antonio's cousin. He is a few years older but they are super close. He basically is with his whole family. That's why I know most of them.
I get why he would have thought that. Pepé drinks a bear every day. But that's just it. Sure, the dude can tell you which beer tastes the best and why and how it was brewed and stuff.
That's why the newly wedded couple wouldn't want him in charge for that.
"If that would have been the case, you would have gotten San Miguel and some other beers only," I said very sure of it as I leaned my back against the bar and uncrossed my arms.
He seemed to agree as he laughed, nodding and shook his pointy finger up and down at me. Like I got Pepé all figured out.
"You got that right," he looked back at the menu, seriously scanning that thing.
After a while I started to get impatient, "Don't you like the options?"
You could tell he was caught off guard by that assumption, "What?- No- I just- I'm not really a drinker and I had to read what each one contains-"
I suddenly felt like an asshole. Just assuming. Damned.
"Oh- I'm sorry- I mean.. you can tell me what you wanna try and I can give you my recommendation," I suggested with a smile.
He immediately stood up straight and looked at me curiously, "Really? That's nice. Thank you"
I blamed myself for coming alone today but dammit this guy got me blushing.
"Oh, it's no biggy," I replied before asking him stuff for what he wanted to try. Narrowing it down as the conversation progressed I eventually picked something for him and myself.
As we waited for our drinks the conversation flowed easily.
Eventually the drinks did too. We were so lost in conversation, time went by quickly.
Ordering one drink after the other we kept talking about all sort of things. How I met Julia and how he met Antonio. Embarrassing stories of the two and so much more.
As we were at our fourth drink the conversation slowed. Both of us looked at the bar just before Gavi spoke up.
"Soo..," Gavi started as he turned to look at me again.
"Who's your plus one?"
"I don't have one," I carefully replied after looking at him too.
I'm not sure if I was imagining it but something between us changed.
"Oh," he mumbled, trying his best to stay in tact, "me neither."
His addition made me curious, "Why not?"
He scoffed, taking another sip of his drink, "I could ask you the same."
I nodded taking a sip too, "Well... I'm single and since I don't want to bring a random guy to my best friends wedding I thought I'd just go alone."
Telling him all that felt so easy. Maybe because talking to him was easy. Or we could just blame it on the alcohol.
It almost seemed like he was relieaved or at least really pleased by that piece of information.
"I guess there is more we have in common than we thought."
Understanding what he meant I grinned slyly and nodded, "I guess we do."
Taking another sip of my drink I kept looking at him. It was tender but not too much. Looking away before placing the drink down.
"Thank you for the drink recommendations," he said holding his glass up and taking another sip.
I couldn't help but chuckle and nod, "You are welcome. Thank you for trying them all."
Laughing he waved his hand dismissively, "It's nothing."
We both are drinking our fourth drink by now and the alcohol is really getting to my head. Making me a bit more giggly. Which showed in response to his reaction.
[Recommended to listen to Imitadora by Romeo Santos from now on]
Drowning the last bit of my drink I got up and held my hand out to him, "Shall we dance?"
I had no clue what has gotten into me but all I knew what I should enjoy the dance floor a bit more.
Pablo genuinely seemed surprised but the alcohol seemed to get the better of him too, making him empty his drink and get up too.
"I can't say no to that," he agreed as he took my hand and followed me to the dance floor.
The room was still pretty filled with people dancing to the Spanish tunes playing. And I loved it.
Neither of us wanted to let go. Certainly he wouldn't let me. Holding my hand he pulled me in to talk into my ear. The feeling giving me goosebumps.
"You know bachata?", he asked looking at me.
I was familiar with the dance but I had no clue on how to dance it. So I shook my head, "No."
Oddly enough he seemed to like that, "Can I teach you?"
Suddenly, I froze for a moment just before nodding, letting him lead me to the music.
Carefully he moved my left hand on his right shoulder. His right hand resting underneath my left shoulder blade. We were still holding hands so he carefully moved them up, our elbows in a almost 45 degrees angle. Stepping a bit closer he grinned at me.
"Is this ok?", Pablo asked for permission.
"Yes," I only got to whisper my reply.
"Good... ahora- now.. just follow me," he said as he started moving his feet to the rhythm, guiding me through it.
"Left foot left, right foot following, left again, right foot just a tap and up with the right side of your hip as you do so," he explained as he moved with me.
He smiled as we continued, doing the steps back and fort. Halfway through the song I started to get the hang of it without him having to guide me with his words.
"You're doing it. You're a natural," he praised me probably more happy about that fact than I was myself.
I couldn't help but blush, "I had a great teacher." Obviously I had to praise him back.
Playfully he rolled his eyes, obviously not able to take a compliment. Since he was blushing too he had to hide it with spinning me.
The move was so sudden, I didn't expected it, so as he spun me back in I lost my balance and basically collapsed on him. Both of my hands planned on his chest.
My eyes widen in surprise, him mirroring me but we both started laughing right away.
"A warning would have been nice," I said as my laughter slowly died, my eyes narrowing down to his lips without even realising.
As I heard him swallow and saw him softly wet his lips, I registered what was happening my eyes shut up to see him look at me with that look. It had to mean something.
Abruptly I pulled back, but he wouldn't let me, holding me by my wrist.
"It's okay," he whispered to me as he looked at my lips and then back up to my eyes.
Shit. My mind started spinning as I registered what was happening. Before I could say or do anything else me did.
"Can I kiss you?"
I stood there, my hands on his chest, his hands holding my wrists as we looked at each other, knowing damn well how bad we want this.
Nodding softly I already moved my face closer, "Yes."
Within a beat he got closer to finally close that gab between us. Kissing me so softly as our lips touch.
I was so overwhelmed that I didn't kiss him back at first, which made him pulled back to look at me. Doubt written over his face but I would let him question me. Therefore I closed the gab again.
Gavi kissed back immediately making this kiss more heated and deeper than before. His hands moved from my wrist, one holding my hip and the other the back of my head. Mine just went around his neck.
The kiss felt eternal, lasting for a bit just before we pulled back out of breath.
"Damn."
"Coño."
We simultaneously mumbled, meaning literally the same thing. Being so in sync made us laugh.
Carefully he brushed a strand of hair behind my ear, looking at me like I was the only one here.
"You're so beautiful," he said as we made eye contact.
My stomach twisted at his words, simply because everything started to feel so real. Like it just now clicked that I actually like him. Like really like him.
It just everything now clicked that I not only want to spent the whole night with him but every other night too. Wanting to know all of him.
I think that realization hit me so hard that it changed my expression. It got Pablo all worried.
"What's wrong?", he asked all worried.
Swallowing I had to clear my throat, "Uh- nothing... I just- realised-"
Pausing I tried of a plausible way to ask him. Patiently he waited.
"I wanna get to know you better. Spend time with you more."
"Like a couple?", he immeditly asked.
His straight forwardness was refreshing honestly.
Nodding softly, "Yeah... exactly like a couple."
Pablo scoffed as a smile spread his face, "I would like that... maybe I could take you out tomorrow?"
Laughing I nodded, "Straight to it, huh?... I would love that."
"Great," he said with a giggle as he hugged me tight.
I couldn't believe the night I had. Not only did my best friend marry the love of her life, but I also met this amazing, fun, handsome and sweet guy who happens to be my best friends husband's best friend.
a/n: rushed ending but I hope y'all can forgive me🙏🏼
