Hey, so for those of you who haven’t heard, the company behind Babymetal (Amuse Inc.) just announced that they’re going to be selling Babymetal-themed NFTs starting from May 6th. Obviously, this is super fucked up, and as fans we should make it clear to Amuse that this shit is NOT the way to go.
In addition to speaking out on social media, one of the best ways to make an impact is through money. If any of you have preordered the 10th anniversary album, or have made any other purchases from Babymetal’s official store that haven’t shipped yet, I recommend canceling them and most importantly, stating why. If you need an example script, here’s what I put in my order cancellation note:
Hello, I would like to cancel my preorder for the 10 Babymetal Years T-shirt bundle.
My reason for cancellation is the news of the upcoming Babymetal NFTs. I have been a Babymetal fan for many years and I will always support the members of Babymetal, the Avengers, and the Kami Band, but NFTs are nothing more than a pyramid scheme that have caused irreparable damage to the environment. I cannot, in good conscience, support such a practice, and thus I will no longer be spending any money on Babymetal albums or merchandise until this irresponsible and egregious disrespect to our universe is undone.

I love Babymetal deeply and I’m going to continue to support them as artists, but It is NOT metal nor kawaii for Amuse to pull this shit, so we need to make that very clear. I hope y’all will join me in kicking Amuse in the financial balls <3
