🍃🏹➳ With a final heave, the half-dryad drove the hatchet into the back of the man’s skull, blood splattering forth as she did so. She had been shot several times, but she did it, she finally killed him.

She staggered back a few steps, and leaned against the trunk of the last Dragon Tree that the man had tried to destroy, exhausted, until a strange, swirling portal opened up out of nowhere and out stepped a dark-robed skeleton.

Oh no.

“...You here for me or him?” She asked, gesturing to the very clearly dead man with the caved in skull, lying motionless on the forest floor. It was kind of a stupid question, but in her defense, she had been beaten over the head a few times in the fight and had lost quite a bit of blood. Truth be told she wasn’t even sure if she was really seeing what she was seeing right now.

A younger Rick around mid 40′s stood in the living room. His ex-wife, Diane, stood there across from him.

“Can’t you see, Rick? Your ‘science’ is ruining our lives, our child’s life.”

Rick glared back with crossed arms. “Oh, yeah, blame my science now, but did you when the Gromflomites were invading our house? Did you complain about it ruining your lives when I invented a device to exterminate all of their soldiers?”

“That’s not the point,” Her eyebrows furrowed. “Yes, you’ve saved us countless times and I’m forever grateful, but it’s the science that caused this. It’s you who caused for it to happen.”

He raised his arms in exaggeration to emphasize his words. “It’s not my fault, Diane and you know goddamn well that the only reason they came here was to take over Earth for some Galactic Federation.”

“But it is, it is your fault,” She was quiet for some time as she turned her back on Rick. Tears formed. “I’m sorry, but you need to choose --- it’s either us or your science because I will not put my daughter in harms way for any longer.”

Stunned, Rick stood there. His heart shattered at the ultimateum, but he couldn’t deal with this. Not now. Not when he was on the verge of a huge breakthrough.

The creation of inter-dimensional travel.

He walked away. “Fine, leave. I don’t need you or anyone else.”

The garage door slammed and that was the end of that conversation.

With a pounding headache, Rick opened his eyes. He didn’t know where he was or how he got here. Though when he tried to move, he realized two things. He wasn’t alone and the person was chained to him.

He pulled and struggled. “Wh-what the fuck? Who are you and where the fuck am I?”

Yeah, so he may or may not have had a crash landing here and caused some injuries to himself. Not that the burning ship behind him as its partially buried into the dirt was ANY sort of indication. Same could be said for his hobble when he’s moving. He’s making his way over to the nearest rock, trying to sit himself down so that he can examine the damage.

So far, the biggest injury seems to a chunk of metal from the ship that’s lodged in his torso.

“I’m fine. I don’t need help, especially not from some random RICK.”
