A Poem for Debbie Hu
playing music on my porch on a cold day
we both admit to agreeing with our estranged on something:
that billy joel should be revered for a couple melodies
we plan creating an all girl barbershop quartet
and have endless stories of
lovers and states to trade
soon you disappeared into the peaceful part
of the states that you told me about
and I missed you
and was envious of the quiet rolling hills
and the stories extending
beyond where I could see
I met one of your legends at a party
when we spoke
suddenly
you became the story
and I missed you again
