thinking about mermaid au. obviously dave is a great white shark (bad rap for being violent/aggressive, cant stop moving or else they suffocate). people still give him weird/cursed/haunted objects but half of it is just human junk. he keeps it all in an underwater cave or perhaps an old shipwreck like ariel. john is an atlantic white sided dolphin (sociable, very vocal, might use pufferfish to get high?). not sure where his blowhole is but i know he constantly makes jokes about it. has 'tattoos' that are just octopus ink in vague shapes. wants to join peoples beach parties so bad but he cant walk on land :(

for the vague story idea i have amy must be human HOWEVER!!! i believe she would be an invertebrate like a sea slug or a sea bunny. no real reason for that i just think theyre cute. im imagining joy as some strange deep sea octopus (change color and very easily imitate coral/other creatures and are generally seen as strange and alien)
