Mhhh another take: 20+ songs are too much for a single album. "The more songs the better" is a statement definitely true for fans (and yay! Content!) but I think the quality of an album suffers when there is too much on it.

oh yes definitely! with every extra song added the album becomes more tiring (even for fans imo) and it becomes more possible for songs being called ‘skips’ because you wouldn’t want to listen to more than 1 hour of it if you really want to listen to about half of those? i’ve really come to love and appreciate shorter albums recently: when they hit they ALL hit? my favourite example is probably melodrama because i’ve had every song on it as my favourite at some point since its release and i think with longer albums it’s inevitable that some songs will start being seen as fillers (stay stay stay on red 💔)

Take: The CGI-heaviness of the folkmore music videos does a bad job at reflecting the down-to-earth/folksy production and aesthetic of the respective albums. (And I personally would have loved three MVs for the teenage love triangle that don't star Taylor.)

i especially agree with this for the cardigan mv! i think the woodsy cabin / forest / stormy waves wasn’t really reflective of folklore at all? i see folklore to be a kind of constant, simmering sadness and the cardigan mv was too, uh, action-heavy to mirror that feeling.

as for willow, i really really like it because i find evermore to be a more polar album, if that makes sense? like as compared to folklore, it’s got more movement and experiment to it. there’s also more mysticism to it imo. and i think the willow mv goes hand-in-hand with that vibe.

also YES i would’ve loved that for the teenage love triangle so much... something like a short movie trilogy? ugh *chef’s kiss* take rate: hot!
