About Ol' Greeg:
Ol' Gregg is a Kivouachian, a species from the Kivouack found in the book the August Few: Amygdala created by Sam Fennah.
He was from before the Trade Revolution. He saw it come. He saw it go. Born of the water he grew up among the douser society of Lockton Black. He comes off as stern and an old grump. Gregg's moto is survive and keep Living. He does not bother with Politics. It was politics that brought the Revolution and it's poison.
While he spends most of his time in the water where he is most comfortable Gregg prefers to do business on the land. He saw the threat of a great divide between land and water during the revolution so he prefers to make a good reputation amongst the land dwellers. Not for the good of others but for self preservation.
His work is as a freelancer doing various things. He trades Douser fowlers to chop shops. Mostly ones that stir up trouble. Greg also offers his service as a water escort for sea fairing folk that don't trust the waters and just want a little extra piece of mind. As well he trades his loose teeth or tail scales when they shed.
The Teeth are especially hard and have a translucent gold to them. Bright but not as striking as that of Winifred. They are a novelty to artisans. His tail scales are another item that has beautiful shine and colors. Almost like that of an opal but with a hardness almost to that of tempered steal. Both of these items are often used for ornamentations or Jewelry my craftsmen.
Gregg has a good reliable reputation amongst the towns of Lockton Black. He stays in each town for a couple chimes before returning to the water. He can stay out of water for a decent amount of time as long as he hydrates. Most know his schedule and that makes him reliable for business.
When on land he switches from using his gills to breathing through his mouth. This causes him to have a constant wheezing sound even though he is perfectly fine. When the gills are shut they can stay adequately hydrated for a handful of chimes. The longest he has stayed on land was a full tone but this was only possible because of regular dips in a pool.
While visiting the shore he catches up with folks and likes to try new things. While he does not enjoy politics he likes to be informed on what is shaping the world through ink or friendly conversation. He is always amazed at the amount of smells there are. His two nostrils, while not the best for full breathing, are perfectly designed for picking up scent in and out of water. And for Gregg the land has so many more scents to experience. He finds the differences fascinating and revels in experiencing them.
His style is very Winiwardian. Cloths are too cumbersome to him with the fins and needing to stay hydrated. At the most he will have a belt with multiple D rings and clasps around his neck for when he is carrying goods.
