.: A Promise is a Promise - Amy
Sonic let out a drag of a sigh, after saying farewell to, like… the seventh Spagonia resident who had either stopped him for a quick conversation, or had either heard from a certain super happy blabbermouth, who had to stop him for advice about his — breathe in…
Honestly, how he managed to get himself into this mess... It was just—… Amy, sometime before he decided to go punch Dark Gaia’s lights out, said “when you’re done, the world will be at peace and we can finally go out!”
He’d be lying if he said that he was paying complete attention to her. He thought she meant hanging out like usual, and said it sounded like fun, not--... well...
But when her eyes went wide and she was stricken speechless for a second, before practically glowing with happiness as she cheered... he didn’t want to correct himself.
He didn’t want to break her heart, and.... well.
After seeing someone so happy and bright from just a simple indirect “yes”... would you really want to say no?
Sadly, things only got worse and worse for the hedgehog with a date as the locals stopped him left and right -- either after hearing it from Amy, or stopping him after he mentioned it himself in passing. It went from just a nice stroll to get to their meet-up point — right outside of the college — to Sonic now finding himself with a bowtie, a bouquet in his hands behind his back, and tickets to a movie later tonight. The things offered were at least given in a nice way…! The tickets were from people who decided not to go themselves, so at least they were getting use…!
But... ugh, things were getting a lot more sappy and cliche than he was expecting, but... A promise was a promise. Only thing now was that Amy was just going to get more and more excited and hopeful about being with him and... ugh. Maybe it would’ve been better if he just said no to all of these things...
… So why was he thinking every now and then about what her reaction would be like? It’d be the usual. Fangirling, clinging, “OHHH, SONIC~”…
So… Why—? Okay, you know what. He wasn’t going to think about this anymore as he took the turn into the college and— there she was. By that strange winged ball statue right at the front. Breathe in, breathe out, and….
Red sneakers walked forward, and Sonic worked his way through the semi-busy college courtyard to get to his friend, clearing his throat as he got there as his cheeks became red fast out of embarrassment because of the stupid bowtie -- he thought his bracelet from Chip was enough to wear!! After Amy got her reaction to his little accessory out of her system, averting his gaze, he went ahead and handed her the bouquet.
“Y-Yeah…. these are, uh. Kinda for you, too.”
Ugh. Ugh, this was going to bite him back later, he just knew it—
Sonic closed his eyes, waiting for some kind of reaction… but at the idea of Amy reacting to the flowers, one emerald eye opened itself up again… just enough to see what this “reaction” was going to be…
