Alhamdullilah, I just got married <3
A non-Muslim friend shared with me that Oprah said something very interesting on her very last show.
After interviewing so many personalities from different backgrounds, Oprah felt that there is one thing that they all have in common: they seek validation.
She agreed with Oprah.
I agreed too but probably in a different way.
Yes, I believe that humans need validation. We need to know that we matter. That we are living a life worth living.
But validation from who? Friends? Family? They change. People change. Change is the only consistent thing in this dunia.
How about validation from things? The bigger, fancier the car...the better you are? Cars rust eventually. And you can never get enough of things. There's always someone with more things than you. Therefore they're better than you.
Try God. Validation from God.
Eternal.
Change? Impossible.
Won't rust.
And He is there at the end of all things finite. When everything else crumbles to dust, He is the only Being that remains.
Allahuakhbar...
I really understand why there's that Islamic saying which goes something like, too much socialization can ruin your soul.
There's this point of time that you just feel sick and tired of people.
I feel it now.
I feel unclean. Tainted with everything ugly that is human. The gossiping. The constant talking about other people.
Just so unclean.
Has any one ever felt that Allah made us socially awkward at times so as to protect us from having the wrong kind of peers?
Every word coming out of your mouth will sound better when said in an appropriate, sincere and respectful manner.
A lot of the world's problems will be resolved with the lowering of the ego.
If you have an Islamic blog but I'm not following you, please feel free to let me know.
I believe that in our lifelong search of Truth, we have to question and ponder on the words of the Quran. But there are some writers out there who not only question the words of Allah but tear them to pieces, mainly to suit his own hidden nafs, nafs that only Allah can see. Astaghfirullah Hal Azeem. It's simple. Our task is just to devote ourselves to Him and He will, in shaa Allah, grant us understanding of Islam. I feel that what most people do is enter into Islam with dunia's worldview. Of course it will be skewed! All the theories we learn at school, throw them all away before delving into Islam. All the things we hear from our parents, friends and even teachers (may Allah protect us from anyone who intends to misguide us unwittingly or purposefully)...throw them away. I believe that all we need before learning Islam is the intention. The intention to know Him. The intention to return to Him and to give Him the whole of your heart unscathed from dunia. As I'm saying this, I truly hope that even I'm not misguided in writing about this. May Allah guide us all. Ya Rabb please help us :'(
