Russia is a country of rich tradition both in folk music and experimentation. Vapraksila.ink is a label with quite a unique sound that ranges from ambient to idm experimentation. Interesting artworks and weird packages make this label’s releases very attractive. Analog Concept are Alexei’s project. This cd-r edition includes 10 tracks of similar structures. Ambient mood with laptop produced loops, strange sounds and field recordings that let a space aesthetic to rise from the background. Dance culture is also present and structurally intervening breaks the ice.
In almost the same manner, vega stereo in “hoyb’29” give us their view of ambient enriching it with noisier sounds, jungle elements while a treat of speeds is present. As the album goes on each track sounds more other-worldy than the other. The outstanding excellent second track creates an almost religious mood and an almost eschatological parenthesis compared to the following tracks. [Μάριος Μ.]
