(i think Uconn is gonna win)
This is my analysis on why Uconn can beat Ucla. I’m gonna try to elaborate my best.
(charts, and graphics provided)
If you look at a chart of shooting for both of the teams this year it shows Uconn has more versatility, but for Ucla it shows they’re most efficient in the paint.
Uconn is much more efficient in the middle (midrange), and (outside), but for Ucla they’re much more efficient to the left (midrange)
Uconn can also shoot threes better than Ucla, and they’re stronger from the three than Ucla, most games Uconn’s stronger from the paint than Ucla but it all depends on how hard they play.
Overall for shooting Uconn takes it for shooting, all of their shooting, (besides deep) percentages are much more better than Ucla’s.
Under the rim, in the corner, and from deep Uconn has better defense, but for the paint, midrange, and the three point line Ucla has better defense.
Win percentage-Ucla-0.6620, Uconn-0.6641
Strength of schedule-Ucla
Records- Uconn, 35-3. Ucla, 34-2.
Ucla has managed to lose to Usc TWICE this season (1-2). Even though we have not directly played Ucla there are some games we can use as reference to why we can beat them. Ucla has lost to Usc by 11, and by 13. We just beat Usc by 14.
Even though Ucla has a higher AP ranking that does not mean they’re better. AP ranking are complied by the Associated Press (AP) through a poll of sportswriters and broadcasters. This Essentially means is decided off of opinions.
Uconn has a higher Net ranking as of now. Net rankings are a data-driven sorting system used by the NCAA Tournament selection committee to evaluate teams and determine their tournament eligibility and seeding.
Out of the two NET rankings are more important because they evaluate it based off of data.
According to ESPN sports analytics, and a lot of others Uconn’s favored to win.
Some Key factors to the next part are, Uconn’s stats were updated as of the 30th, and Paige, or azzi played less games than the people that have higher stats than them.
The First picture displays who’s leading on whatever stat, and the other two are Uconn and Uclas individual leaders on the said stat.
