Current mood, you know?
what stores in salem would you recommend? I'm really interested in learning more about witchcraft
Go to the Coven’s Cottage. My old coworker just opened it this Summer, and it’s awesome! Her name is Nikki and she is a sweet, bubbly Leo. Also, go to pyramid books (I believe it is on derby st.) for gemstones and books.
Crow Haven Corner gave me bad vibes, but maybe you will like it. It’s the oldest witchcraft store in Salem. And I really like HEX on Essex st.- the women that work in there are lovely and will answer your questions.
Magicka on Pickering Wharf is just alright, but they have classes there I think, so maybe you could look into that. Omen I haven’t been too, but I’ve heard good things about it.
Also, don’t forget to go to the Harry Potter store and the wand store next to it if you’re a Harry Potter geek like myself!
Vacation
Just so you all know... I am not ignoring you, I am on vacation and will be back next Monday. Sorry I've been so silent! Love and light to you all xx
Hi there!! I have a slightly complicated question. I was raised a Catholic. I consider myself Catholic and believe whole heartedly in God, Jesus and Mary. I have always had a pull to paganism, wicca, White Magick. I am quite frightened at the same time though. I have started collecting crystals, and essential oils. I almost can't stop myself. I figure, that if God created such beautiful things, such as Mother Earth, why not worship him in a way that fits me? Would this be inappropriate?
If you have good intentions and pour love into your life and everything that you do, what is there to be afraid of? There are lots of Catholics who are witches and believe exactly what you just wrote!
Collect your crystals and learn to create magical oils.Cast spells and read tarot cards. You can do all of these things and STILL worship your God of choosing.
Sending love and light your way xx
How do you cleanse and charge qith intentions a quartz or stone you're going to wear? Love your blog 😍
Thank you!
First of all, you can charge anything with your intentions by focusing on what you wish to materialize and filling it with energy. This is where all of the magick comes from. Do you wish for the stone to relieve your anxiety? Protect you? Bring you love? Or aid in psychic ability? Simply focusing will charge it with your intentions.
Here is a wonderful article on Cleansing, Consecrating and Charging: The 3 C’s
Just a tip: The moon and the sun can cleanse and charge your stone at the same time. Try making moon water with your stones, it’s my favorite :)
Blessings! Xx
Do you have any prayers or anything I can say for protection? I got up and felt my thigh burning and found three long deep cat like scratched down my upper thigh, my bestfriend is bringing me sage tomorrow but until than I want to be protected from whatever this could be.
Your friend is right to cleanse the space. Sweep your entire living space, focusing on sweeping any negative energies away. Then use the sage bundle the same way, to purify the air. Chant while you do this 3 times, going around the room/living space “thrice around the circle bound, evil sink into the ground”.
Other things you could do:
Put a piece of hematite in each corner of your living space.
I like to use natural hag stones as a general protection amulet. Make sure you cleanse, consecrate and charge it with intentions before you wear it.
Anoint yourself with protection oil (a base oil like grapeseed oil, and a mix of 4 drops patchouli, 3 drops lavender, and one drop each of mugwort and hyssop) which should prevent psychic or magickal attacks. Make sure you visualize your intent while you blend the oils and smell the scents. You could anoint your hag stone with this as well.
Hang a horse shoe upside down to keep evil out of your home.
It might also be a good idea to read up on magickal defense and protection. in general.
Blessings! Xx
A Natural Witch
So I saw your response to glitter-fuck-ups ask and I was wondering if you could suggest any resources, books, websites, etc to help one out on that journey? I feel very pulled, for lack of a better word, to exploring this practice for myself more!
Hello and thanks for checking out my blog!
Are you interested in New Age witchcraft and wicca or traditional british witchcraft and celtic folklore? Herbs and crystals for healing, or divination (tarot, scrying, etc)? It helps if you can elaborate on your age and interests but I will give you a beginner’s run-down on the best resources that are out there, or at least the ones I used.
For starters and just generally for anyone interested in exploring the craft, you should explore witchvox.com. It is a community of Pagans/witches/wiccans etc. There is different info on there, other people that share similar beliefs, and also you can find covens in your area (once you get to that point, should you ever want to find one - I practice solitary by choice and many others do!) A quick google search brings up other great blogs and websites, but there are none that I go to religiously. i use books as my main source of info.
Beginners books:
Drawing Down the Moon - Margot Adler
Complete Book of Witchcraft - Raymon Buckland
The Witches Bible - Farrar, Janet, and Stewart
Books I am currently reading that you might want to invest in down the road:
Power Spellcraft for Life - Arin Murphy Hiscock
Traditional Witches Formulary and Potion Making Guide by Sophia DeGregorio
Please let me know if you have any more questions. I am happy to help!
Thanks for asking xx
