With election day right around the corner, things have been hectic in the NYC area. Sure having a mutant advocate as president has been pleasant but that doesn’t mean things will change soon. We want four more years but protesters are saying different. We are placing our heroes right in the middle of Midtown, NYC where the biggest presidential debate between Elizabeth Matthews and Frank Johnson will be taking place. Senator Kelly has been a known supporter for the latter which brings fear to mutants and superhumans alike. With the registration act once again being the number one talked about topic, things are surely going to heat up.
This will be a chatzy prompt/Event meaning we will discuss a date and time to write it together as a group. If you write for more than one character, you can opt to choose only one for the event but it doesn’t mean the other can’t participate. Role players, please like this post so we know it has been read. More details to come in our OOC chat.
Gabriel walked through Kitty’s door as fast as he could, that was the most painful car ride he’d ever experienced and he was in dire need of a drink. Seeing wine bottles on the table, he made a bee line for it and immediately poured himself a glass. “Long night, don’t ask.”
Hisako put the pink gift bag containing the scented candles she bought. She wasn’t close with Kitty so she was unsure what to get. Looking around the room she looked for familiar faces. This was her first social event as college student. Picking up a glass and filling it with punch she stood in a corner quietly until she saw a figure approach her. “Oh hi!”
Katherine Pryde has moved into a cozy apartment in Brooklyn, New York. Sure Tony begged her to stay over at AU but she wanted some independence. Tony however, didn’t really get the hint and offered a nice Salary package to the young Professor so that she could better pay her rent. It wasn’t bribery or anything, just part of the deal. She reluctantly accepted realizing $1700 a month for a one bedroom in Brooklyn was a little too pricey. Now that she’s all settled in, Tony came up with the idea of a house warming soiree so that everyone could get better acquainted. Finally agreeing with something Tony had to say, Kitty started her guest list and invited her friends--old and new. Tony has something in mind however and he sends his best spy, Natasha to not only make an appearance but to bring his favorite bottle of wine. Tony can’t make it but he sure sends his best. What the party goers don’t know is that truth serum has been slipped into the wine and now everyone is dropping truth bombs. Not the party Kitty expected and not what Tony expected either. What started with him phishing for information turns into a game of truth and truth. Yikes. How will our heroes react when certain truths are revealed? Let’s stir the pot!
This event will begin on Friday, September 16, 8:00 p.m .EST. Threads can continue for the event until they are wrapped up and starters can be put up after the set time. Have fun!
And a big thank you to the X-Men and The Avengers who have fought side by side to help this nation avoid a civil war. When asked to come forward with commentary, leader Scott Summers said he didn’t have any but was sure to stop and speak to the children who were surrounding his team for a picture. He may be shy but it looks like there are new heroes in town. Who are these X-men? Our saviors, that is for sure and we want to learn more! The leader of this new brotherhood is still at large but things have certainly settled down. In other news, Robotics Specialist, William Keller has been nominated and will be rewarded the Noble Peace Prize for his invention of the Sentinels--Robots that can mimic powerful mutants and will protect at an international level. They are not created to harm peaceful mutants and were only created for protection of the world. Mr. Keller has ties all around the world with mutants and humans and alike and he is looking forward to the future. Back to you, Tom.
For the next two months, our group will be going through a major transition and a large event that will be separated into three parts will be taking place. Here is the second:
Morlock and members of the ‘new’ Brotherhood of Evil Mutants have been taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. and by members of The Slayers. There are still members at large including leader Scaleface. The aftermath of the violence on the streets of New York and the nation has left the country vulnerable. But it didn’t happen so quickly.
Here is what you need to know:
June 29th- The newly formed Avengers visit the Xavier Institute in hopes to come up with a pan to put a stop to the Morlocks, Brotherhood, and Slayers. There, they meet with Charles Xavier and offer a deal to help if Erik Lehnsherr is given up to S.H.I.E.L.D. Talks of the formation of a university campus under the supervision of Tony Stark are had.
[Throughout the month of July] More and more anti-mutant and also anti-registration rallies are formed raising the alert level.
July 4th- Attack on a presidential peace summit from unknown mutants possibly members of the newly formed Brotherhood of Evil mutants. X-men prepare for a mission. They are now at war.
July 7th- Aftermath of the first mission under the leadership of Scott Summers hits the news. Tony Stark invites the X-Men to Stark Industries to congratulate them with medals of honor. Some are hesitant to attend.
July 11th- After the attack on the government, more security is requested and William Keller is moved to Washington for the remainder of his workload in hopes he completes his top secret creation quicker.
July 17th- The Brand new Sentinel is revealed to the world. A new robot that can mimick any mutant it comes in contact with. In the news, it is revealed that these robots are for the sole purpose to protect the president and not to hurt peaceful mutants. William Keller is offered the Noble Peace Prize.
[Everything seems to have calmed down after the successful X-Men mission despite some members feeling ‘a certain kind of way’ about the S.H.I.E.L.D. taking the captured brotherhood members. Even with the attack on the government, the nation seems more at peace but not everyone is convinced]
July 28th- Tony Stark announces the opening of his University in the upcoming year.
August 1- A mutant announces his candidacy into office and takes a stand against the rumored registration act.
When the chaos begins:
All the dates listed above will be known to your muses whether it be through important posts, news briefs, articles, etc so keep an eye out.
Event Part II:
For the second month, threads, paras, journal entries should be reactions to all the changes taking place in the world. Queued up posts of news briefs and newspaper clippings will be posted to inform the group of what is happening. What are your character’s feelings towards the sudden stop in violence (when it occurs) Is it too good to be true? What are their reactions to the the top secret government project after it is revealed? Do they think it’ll benefit them too or are they wary of this new development? Finally, do they trust the Avengers or are they worried there is more than what meets the eye? As always, we ask that you keep the dates in mind and that you pace yourself for this event! Please come to the admins if you have questions on possible plots!

Tagging: Scott Summers with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers
Location: 2016 Superheroes Summit in Westchester, New York
Time Frame: Afternoon, June 24,2016
General Notes: Scott attends the Summit and ends up with a lot of feelings
Scott leaned against the wall in the elevator bank, his eyes resting on Tony who was surprisingly quiet. He wanted to take the time to speak to Steve more but it probably wasn’t the time nor the place for such things. Raven had insisted on coming along for the trip but Scott knew that she had little to no filter when it came to things that struck a chord in her so he opted to attend the Summit alone, representing the Institute. There had been protestors outside as he expected and he even rolled his eyes at how some people were willing to welcome the Avengers despite their anti-mutant hate speech. It was enough to boil his blood but he’d sit on that for a while.
Things started off fairly simple with a few questions for each member of the panel. Tony brought up points about inclusion of Superhumans into the whole ‘equation’ as he kept putting it. It was enough to irritate Scott. “What we need is to act fast. The X-men know these members and are aware of what they’re capable of. We can take it from here, Mr. Stark.”
A dry laugh and an extended sigh later from Tony and Scott was gripping his chair. “You can’t be serious? That will only cause more upset and it’s honestly the last thing we need.”
Throw in a few opinions from the audience about destruction of the city by both the superhumans and the mutants and now Tony and Scott were practically on their feet with Steve pulling them both down to calm them.
S.H.I.E.L.D. representatives went next as if it could serve as a potential “cool off method”. Something about a registration act and the possibility of bringing it all the way to Congress.
“That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day.” Scott chimed in, out of his turn of course. “We’re not agreeing to that.”
Of course Tony was in agreement. “Of course you are! You rely on your gadgets! You don’t have to worry about people hunting you down because you’re gifted.”
“Don’t you want a better life for the kids of your school? If they’re registered, they’ll be safely monitored.”
“If they’re registered, people will know where they are! They will be on everyone’s radar! No! You can’t possibly do this to an entire race of people!”
“There’s a calmer way to solve this. We hear Erik Lehnsherr is living and breaking bread with the X-Men. He’s a known terroi–”
“He helped saved the lives of the children in our school after the criminals we’re all here to discuss attacked it. He has no affiliation with this new group.” Scott cut Tony off, completely disregarding the others.
“But he did, Summers. We’re going to sit here and completely erase everything he’s done?”
“He’s trying to protect his children!”
“ENOUGH” Steve finally managed to get Scott to sit down. “Enough. Tony just wants to speak to Erik. We were planning to visit the institute next week. It would do the students a lot of good if the Avengers stayed there a couple of days so we can properly approach this situation. We want to make sure Erik isn’t involved, Scott.” He placed a hand on Scott’s shoulder and Scott rolled it back.
“My word should be good enough, Steve. There was once a time my word was enough.” Scott was seething at this point. A registration act would destroy the anonymity the X-Men had. How could Steve be okay with this? The summit continued with brief mentions of the act and the benefits it would have as Scott continued clicking the pen in his hand angrily. When the floor was open once more, he raised his hand to alert the audience he wouldn’t take long.
“I understand your fear.” He kept his eyes on the crowd. “But to ask mutants and superhumans to register is as bad as asking people to wear identification based on their religious affiliation or sexual orientation. I cannot and will not agree with or sign anything that ties me to the act. I guarantee you that I will have many people to back me up. So it’s a ‘no’ for me. Thank you.”
He was bombarded by newscasters and blocked by television vans the moment he reached the garage. When asked if he was a friend or foe of Erik, Scott gripped his wheel and shouted “No comment. Please let me exit.” When he had the opportunity to leave, he took it and left the premises as quick as possible, protesters shouting obscenities at him as awful as wishing his future children death. He wasn’t fazed by the ignorance but it did add to the fire burning deep down inside of him. When he had driven far enough, Scott exited his car and paced the area with his hands on his hips. “Dammit!” He yelled out and kicked his tire, balling his fists. Charles was not going to like this.
“Scott Summers, leader of the X-men of the worldly known Xavier Institute will be making an appearance on Friday night, June 24th at a summit headed by Tony Stark in which mutants and superhumans will unite to talk about the current national issue that is the formation of the new Brotherhood of Mutants. We’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more information and what is to come...”
[see below for comments]
User 1: A summit where all of them get to determine the OUR future? Yeah, okay.
User 2: ^^^^ That’s the bigoted response that won’t get us anywhere.
User 3: Scott Summers. Who dat? I heard he’s cute.
User 4: And in today’s Political news, who wore it best? Cutie Scott Summers or Tony Stark?
User 5: I wouldn’t be able to concentrate at this Summit.
User 6: Not one important comment here. I have a few questions for the Avengers and The X-Men: Do you guys know what the government is up to? Are they blaming all mutants for the atrocious acts of this new Brotherhood? Also, how about a stop gets put to them and we don’t deal with them ever again? End of. Who will have the balls? Tony or Scott?
