"My mother and father have never been involved in that business, no. Though, father does tell me that from his side, we supposedly do hail from an old line of fiercely patriotic vampire hunters who overtly resisted Dracula's attempted campaign in the region of the Caucasus and West Asia some centuries back. Something about our ancestors Cyrus and Houshang having been leading the resistance against corrupted nobility and satraps whom Dracula had tarnished in his endeavors to spread his influence from Europe over into Asia. They previously had also been known to take out some especially malevolent djinn back in those days as well."
She laughs lightly upon recalling something her father had told her once. "Dad is in possession of a prized family heirloom, an ornate pesh-kabz dagger he claims actually contains the spirit of our great forefather Cyrus. I never put much stock into that little claim even after he had gifted me with the weapon though, no matter how charming it might be."
