|| Healing: The process of
I have mentioned earlier that the concept of Healing was in development. I wasn’t sure of how to excute it in my work, and I had too many ideas I wished to implement in that one particular piece. For starter, I knew I wanted to encorporate a heart in the piece, but at the same time, I wanted it to be a reflection of my being (you see how complex it is becoming?!)
I wanted to incorporate so many elements but at the same time, keep it simple and combine the symbolism of all that I wanted to portray in an art piece. So I had the first 3 elements of this concept put together:
1. The heart
2. The heart’s healing chakra
3. The colour green
I’ve mentioned this piece of information previously, I’m not a floral person (the irony). But it is possible to use the symbolism of the flowers and the colour to send a certain message! The different roses, the sunflowers and lilies... Nothing is left for chance. It all made sense and I finally put it all together! and it was time to start filling in the colours. I started with the easy bits (the surrounding heart chakra, and the heart itself)
Benji also has to take part in the making of this beautiful piece
As much as I have enjoyed making this piece, it was exhausting at the same time! I’m not sure if it was because I was using new techniques, experimenting with colours, trying to make the most out of it and still perserving the message I had initially... all of that, maybe more... I’m not sure! But it’s fine now that it’s all done, and so did a chapter of my life with it :)
That one piece of embroidery probably means a lot more to me than the rest, although I can assure you, there is a story behind each of my pieces. There is a message, and there is a mixture of emotions and energy put in them.
