Living One Day at a Time
It’s easy to get caught up in what may or may not be happening tomorrow. The part of our brains that is designed to prepare us for the unknown is paying close attention to possibilities; this mechanism works both for us and against us.
One day at a time is all we can do. We can set goals, plan, and take steps towards what we want to achieve in life, but in reality, we are limited to this hour, this day, this moment. When life becomes overwhelming, these are the things that are important to remember.
While we sometimes anticipate tomorrow with joy, we often anticipate with dread. Dread is that looming feeling that something bad is coming our way, that something unpreventable is going to befall us. Dread is the enemy of freedom and of joy.
Remember that in all circumstances, we are limited. This is an intensely positive realization! We are limited to what we can control, which includes our own affect, our outlook, and our relationships. Find support in whichever ways help you feel anchored. You may do things differently than anyone else, and that is perfectly ok.
Maybe you need friendships to feel anchored; maybe a pet keeps you feeling connected. Whatever it is, you need to be able to lean on a creature that can respond to you with assurance and help you find peace when the world feels like it’s spinning out of control. Most importantly, you need something or something to help remind you to just keep going.

Protection: Wards
Wards protect you from unwanted sprits and beings. These spirits and beings are things want to and can/will affect your magick, life, spirit, love, and physical self. The best way to keep them out is to not invite them in and to keep your wards up to date. Your ward will take the shape/form you imagine protecting you like a wall or a sphere barrier. Something like that.
Building up wards requires using your own energy/magick or borrowing from the earth, but it all must be anchored to a point in order to stay there and protect you and your safe. The anchor point will be something like a rune/sigil, crystal, or something important that holds some energy, like a family heirloom from your ancestors or something like that. The anchor point must be in place before the ward spell, intention, or incantation is done for that the ward to bind to the anchor point.
Some wards are more permanent and others needs to be charged and possibly replaces/redone.
However, before warding it is most important to cleanse. Cleansing before warding is important to make sure you aren’t trapping in bad energy, emotions, beings, etc.
Take down your wards before you move and leave a place, do not leave energy or magick just lying around without your upkeep or presence
Sigils:
Sigils can be used to ward by using sigils or runes with protective qualities. These can be drawn with clear intention onto paper and hidden around the perimeter of the area you are warding, like the corners and outside walls of your apartment/house, or the corners and walls of your room.
Warm water mixed with salt and stirred with protective intention (like thinking strongly and loudly “I AM PROTECTED. MY HOME IS PROTECTED. NO HARM COMES TO ME OR MY HOME. MY MAGICK IS SAFE. I AM SAFE. Etc”). This salt water can then be used to draw protective sigils on windows, walls, and doors, and above openings like doorways, vents, etc. Make sure to still be mentally or verbally chanting your protection or setting strong intentions of protection.
Sigils must be recharged/redone. It is best to do this every full moon or around there due to the abundant energy. Make sure to cleanse your area to keep from trapping negative energy in your wards.
Crystals:
Crystals can be an anchoring point for your wards as well. Crystals associated with protections and sending away bad energy are best (crystals like Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Amethyst, etc). These crystals can be placed in corners, under windows/on windowsills, and under your pillow/bed. (clear quartz can also be used as anchor point because it likes to hold energy)
Crystals must be cleansed and recharged from time to time, again under the full moon.
