skeletons?
Someone else had asked, but no. Lots in the Halloween cards, but not Christmas.

tell us all about heretic 2
it’s... okay i guess. running and jumping around is fun enough in it’s own way but a lot of the spells just aren’t cool or terribly interesting (or particularly damaging until you use the tome of power). the last two spells you can pick up are just about worthless considering they don’t do that much more damage per use but cost way more mana. the story stops being that interesting after you leave the first city, and while the boss fights do mix things up, for the most part they are just damage sponges.
best part of the game is when you get to free the ogles (little dwarf dudes) from slavery and they cheer, run about aimlessly, and even help you attack their slave masters. worst part of the game was the insect city, which preceded the ogle part. is it worth going out of your way to play? not particularly, unless you’re a weirdo like me who goes out of his way to play old shooters.
however, i do have a theory that heretic 2 helped pave the way for jedi outcast and jedi academy being as good as they are. it’s third person, it’s in a quake engine, and you have abilities you can activate at the cost of mana. there’s a part in heretic 2 that really reminded me of the jedi temple trial thing you have to do in jedi outcast as well.
overall i give it a corvus plague dick/10
What do you think of Strafe so far? I've played for about 30 minutes and I'm already seeing a lot of things I dislike about it
you're in the same boat as me unfortunately, 4 episodes 4 maps each all are randomly generated, guns don't feel tough and the roguelike thing only makes the game longer than it should be.A genuine 4 episode doom clone with maps made by people would've been great. The best thing strafe does is it's presentation which is fantastic.Let's wish all the best for DUSK
the ice key was part of some weird thing they scrapped late in development where you could transfer items from banjo kazooie to banjo tooie by swapping the cartridges real fast. long story short: it wasnt actually possible so they just kinda blocked the stuff out. Just google "Stop N' Swap" people went apeshit over figuring this all out
if theres anything in video games that drives me nuts its gotta be inaccessible items/areas, i really wish they wouldve fleshed it out more.
im playing thru quake 1 for the first time and I like it. are the mission packs worth it or should I pass?
the quake 1 mission packs are worth playing, yeah
the q2 ones aren’t
