we call chips chips in nz actually. (I think that's the joke you're making?) we just also call hot chips chips. you tell from context, basically.
I had no idea! Thanks for letting me know, I was worried if I put just chips I’d get a bunch of people telling me not to dip my fries in kiwi dip (I think it would be great with fries actually).
Not to follow my gratitude with a backhand, but also “we call chips chips and we also call hot chips chips and you tell from the context” tells you a lot about New Zealand. :D
