My supervisors today were discussing hiking trails, and how much they regret the third day of their big trips, and this is where I swooped in and told them this is why horses are superior for longer travel. New supervisor clicked at me and said, “Knew it. Knew you were a horse girl.”
Do you know who I’ve now become at work, according to my supervisors?
I'm totally in love with the fact that Levi loves animals ! I mean, imagine him during petting his horse and inside of his head he was just "that's my giiiiiiiiiiirl", or giving apples and extra cuddles after expeditions :3 (horse lover speaking)
I know right?! It’s ridiculously adorable isn’t? It’s perhaps not surprising that Levi shows such kindness to horses, he’s a deeply compassionate individual after all, so it’s understandable that his compassion would extend to animals, particularly the Survey Corps horses whose speed and courage must have saved their lives many times over. It’s particularly touching when you consider that Levi can’t have had much, if any, experience of horses growing up in the Underground. I can’t help wondering how much Isabel’s love of animals rubbed off on him.
I really wish I knew the first thing about horses, because I would *love* to write a fic about Levi learning to ride and to bond with the SC horses, but sadly I am completely clueless*. Thankfully more talented writers than me have already written some beautiful fics that explore Levi’s affinity with horses. Audacity by @persisting is an absolute favourite in that regard.
* I’m marginally more familiar with camels and once managed to write a crack AU about the Survey Corps riding camels instead of horses. You probably had to be there at the time…
