WoF A-Z Challenge part 4: 13-16

Prince Arctic, Arctic, Arid, Armadillo

Design notes below the cut!

Arctic: I based him off of Renee Graves from TCOAAL because it’s funny. Additionally, I made him a lot spikier with the idea that due to stress and not being able to adapt to his new environment, he’s started losing the hair that would typically cover the quills on his head. He is very icy-colored, I made him the perfect example of a royal, northern icewing and then I put him in the air fryer.

Argus: Based on a brown Argus butterfly! Not much to say about him, but future members of the Chrysalis will have little antenna bands with the red leaf symbol! It’s left a bit vague whether he left the Chrysalis or not but he was at least mentioned to be a member . so.

Arid: Nonbinary to me. Their face made me think of Egyptian hieroglyphics to me and I’m not sure why? Anyways, I gave them an almost neat and angular look based on bricks. I had a really hard time looking for information on modern Egyptian fashion, but I gave them a scarf with metallic embroidery based on some cool stuff I found. They of course have their Quartz Winglet badge!

Armadillo: Based on a pink fairy armadillo! My headcanon for armadillo is that she has a growth disorder(?) resulting in a short stature, “dragonet-like” features (“flocked” skin lacking scapes, softer scales and horns) that last into adulthood, and sensitive skin. I think she’d get along with Sunny! I imagine her to be a strategist, and her understanding of the weight and importance of information is why Thorn refers to her in canon as being trustworthy.
