i mainly use twitter as my main social media platform these days and the whole “anti” thing has gone absolutely batshit. if there ever was an original, soluble point to the term, it’s been so bastardized that i can’t tell if it’s ever meant to have a conclusive meaning.
honestly, at this point? from what I’ve seen? it’s falling into the “anyone who disagrees with me” category, often with a sort of under the table, or subtle wink, that it’s therefore okay to respond aggressively, usually reactionary, at whoever the “anti” is
I still remember the original post, too (in going to “anti” from “anti-r*ylo” when it was first coined and pushed into use, I think you probably remember this too?), and watching something with such contentious beginnings spread throughout fandom as a catchphrase in the way it has, with the speed it has, is ... well, like the other thread, ultimately it’s depressing lol
