I realized i can talk to myself here. i miss ringo so bad spoiler warning for past fan tls if anyone sees this
I think having the main pov (?) of this arc be someone whos arguably in a more rikomero adjacent position(rinriko mention Hey) canonly described as a bystander than to have the hina/koto placement (im hesitant to put anyone in the like staple hina/koto position since its just structurally different hmmnggknng.. i moreso just mean like someone with a clearer ending from the start) before is soooo good.. whole Ringo Talk below not an analysis or anything just me commenting on her lol
i’ve Talked To Myself alot about ginga arc and fine tuned my own tls like 4 times because i care alot but I think a really common theme is just “doing x for yourself” and with mitsukuri and kikyou as clear images of this ringo always felt a bit hard to place. i think shes done things for herself but under the guise of doing it in the name of something better ? shes a very impulsive person but shes also very determined and to make parallels to rikomero here having something you flipped your whole life around for overnight have nothing come out of it reminds me of rikomero’s slow progression with the same thing, devoting so much time and getting results for it to be overthrown suddenly .. her dialogue reminds me of how rikomero talked to hina at the end just more aggressive. continuing on a path even if youre starting to have second thought because you already gave up too much and also believing Something Better will reward you (can also put this next to kikyou’s “it feels like my life has been taken over and i hate it” choosing to prioritize herself …)
I think thats also fault of ginga though since he Is selfish intentionally or not and like in canon epilogue descriptions he tries to change but it doesnt go well and thats just who he is which doesnt really go well with ringo’s persistence its just like.. unstoppable force and immovable object or something lmfaooo
i really really think ringos entire plan would have worked atleast somewhat better on anyone else had it not been towards ginga. ringos conflict to me comes from knowing she doesnt know him at all and also being the only one who doesnt hold him to any specific image or standard (can kinda say kikyou does this too but it comes out of her as more constant faith in takafumi/kikyous idea of him which ringo doesnt have a solid grasp on) ringo being so persistent and forcing herself into his life but to get nothing out of it like just. so unfulfilling to realize youre just going to keep going in circles. having ringo not be in the adaptation and only teased at the end is honestly Good Characterization if you think about it LOL
ginga makes it very clear who he cares enough to devote time to and really doesnt do/say anything he doesnt mean and ringo was just never even a thought for any of that (again viewing mitsukuri and kikyou as two extremes of this even kikyou still has a level ringo doesnt in this even if its negative. shes still On the perception chart somewhere)
this is long and im repeating stuff but to solidly place ringos image of him i feel it was just something better than whatever she had at the time? she did hold him to a standard in that aspect i guess but it was just Something Better. like viewing him as something out of reach that she just has to work for and try soo so hard and then get tired of trying … ringo my apple baby i love you
this got really long and ive neve made posts like this i just am too shy to post any long conversations anywhere elseldndkdnc
