[ okay so rantish thing under the cut... I’ve got some really dumb and unnecessary DnD drama going on.... like wtf.... ]
[So I am in three campaigns that we alternate on Wednesday nights, one of which i run. So one of our group had a character named Lance.
Lance was supposed to be a Chaotic Neutral asshole who is never sober and just a really shitty monk searching for his lost child. This was a cool character concept for our setting... But he’s only an asshole to the groups archer, and my character, Magali.
Lance is mean to her every chance he gets, defiling her fathers hammer he passed down to her, being incredibly racist to her and her culture, and many other things. One session he nearly got her killed by ignoring an enemy he had been fighting to fight one the other two members of our group had been fighting... When it was over Magali went to Lance and confronted him. No i was shouting because Magali has always been a loud girl. It’s what she does and has always done we all know this. So she yells at Lance asking why he left her for dead when we were teammates.
Amanda, Lance’s player, responds IC at first before escelating to OOC and saying that “Lance is chaotic neutral and i always play him as good (to literally anyone but Magali) and I will punch you!” She didn’t say this to Magali she was shaking and staring at me. I don’t know what i did but she was mad at me OOC?
We confronted her about this when the session finally came to an early close over the fight. And this- this is her excuse. She laughs “Chaotic Neutral characters are crazy! To be Chaotic means you will kill someone at any time.”
We corrected her on what Chaotic neutral meant and she got mad saying “If you can’t handle Lance then I won’t be him.” and that was that. we killed off Lance... here is the real problem. she is in 2 other sessions with us.
So after I get home from a lovely 2 week vacation with my girlfriend I get with the group and we talk about mine and Katie’s session because we don’t want to just stop them. We haven’t done DnD since Lance died so i say “hey I’ll ask if she wants to stay in the session.” Because no one else in the group wanted to and we were just putting it off and missing sessions now. We missed my Jojo one this week over it :c
Today i manage to catch her on her way to work and i ask. “Hey! So i was starting to write on the next Jojo session. Are you dropping from all the campaigns or just Patrick’s?”
She gets visibly angry when i ask this and just kind of takes up this ‘I’m done with everything’ attitude. “Oh well I only dropped because you couldn’t handle Lance. All my characters are different so It’s up to you guys if I stay i guess.”
I didn’t think of a response fast enough and she left... I... Dude what the fuck? It was a simple yes or no? It is her call not ours. we were willing to let her stay but you know what? She’s dead in the Jojo one i can toss Joseph or Caesar in if they need a fourth fighter that bad. But am i being too quick to say that? I feel really biased because I’m the one she has been passive aggressive to lately? i dunno....
I personally have always hated her characters. she makes this nice backstories and then can’t actually follow through with them. When she plays them they are incredibly two dimensional and they all metagame. *hides head* I hate drama so much and I’m like flung in the middle of this one. it’s like being in freaking Highschool all over again.
