Problem is…I don’t, so it didn’t

#look I don’t hate Jax #his character is interesting to a point #but more than anything he’s so fucking predictable #I had already surrendered to the fact that he’s the creator’s favorite so of course he’s gonna get more screen time #and merch #but ho boy did this episode really test my patience #we really don’t need more of what he’s sad about #we already got enough of that #we know he’s not liked #we know he’s sad that his friends are gone #we know he’s a selfish coward #we know too much about what’s supposed to make him sympathetic #and yet I’m still not all that inclined to care about him because so much of his content recently has been “he’s sad”#and it’s hard to feel bad about someone who put themselves in that position in the first place #he’s not doing anything to change and that’s not interesting to me #he is not as I interesting to me as the rest of the characters in this series #I like the episode because we got more of Caine who’s more problematic in a fun way #but the fact that this was essentially just a meaningless lore dump for the sake of a rugpull left me feeling so unsatisfied #because the runtime was at the cost of actual character focus #which you could argue Caine got the most of it so I can’t be too mad #the show is character driven not plot driven and the way this episode played out showed that’s where it really thrives #I’m interested in what ep 8 will do because I’m certain it’s gonna go back to that formula #precisely because it ended with a very character driven decision so I guess we’ll have to #wait and see #but this one really didn’t do it for me #tadc episode 7 spoilers #tadc spoilers #tadc jax #the amazing digital circus #tadc
