The shattered mirror metaphore for systems is so weird. If I download a virtual machine onto my laptop and it has its own identity as a seperate computer on the same hardware (basically what a virtual machine is) I havent shattered my laptop. If alters were one person shattered into discreet parts systems with 100s of alters would not be possible. We are all programs on meat computers (even singlets, thats what being a person is). another program doesnt mean your computer is broken
