I'm now happy to show off my personal project I've been working on!
Happy 25th Anniversary of Disney's Tarzan/the Tarzan OST!!!
On June 18th, 1999, Disney's Tarzan was released in theaters, and a month prior, the OST was released in full! This quickly became one of young!me's favorite Disney movies/soundtracks of all time, and in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of both, I created Kingdom Hearts inspired stained glass fanart of the movie and one of the best Disney songwriters ever (In my book!), the one and only Phil Collins!!
(But he can't have all the credit! I'll be doing KH inspired stained glass fanart for the other music composer, Mark Mancina, at a later date! =) )
The first two are inspired by both the radio and movie versions of "You'll Be In My Heart". The third is inspired by "Strangers Like Me"!
Lots more info under the cut!!
I started working on these early May, but I was taking my time to make sure everything looked nice! I am a little sad this wasn't finished in time for either of the separate anniversaries, but I am happy this was finished overall and looks great!
I have drawn Phil privately before..but usually of his younger self, with much more hair on him. TBH, I don't have much practice drawing any type of short hair in general, so I hope I did it justice!
NEVER drawn any of the Tarzan cast before, either, so I'm DEFINITELY happy at how they turned out for my first try!
My favorite lil' smaller detail is the Mickeys in the center left/right. I redrew the old (and yet still somewhat current?) Walt Disney Records logo! But gave it my own flair, and instead of ol' conductor's baton, I replaced it with a mic (on the left) and drumsticks (on the right), since that was mainly what Phil did outside of songwriting for the movie.
The color schemes were simple. Primarily warm color scheme (for the first one) because Phil always had a red, yellow, orange and blue aesthetic going on (That might not make much sense, but if you've seen his music videos (solo and in Genesis) and even album art, you can probably see what I'm getting at.) Night sky color scheme for the second one because of the movie version of YBIMH. And the green color scheme for the overall color scheme of the movie. 💜
I MUST give credit to Akili-Amethyst on DeviantArt for creating the general base template of the stained glass art! They haven't been active on there for about a year now, but they do have a HUGE library of various stained glass art they did! Please, go check out their amazing work!
Suffice to say, this movie holds a special place in my heart, being one of the first Disney movies I ever saw (The others being Mulan and Toy Story). The soundtrack has some of the first songs I've ever remembered, and ultimately became the catalyst to me being the Phil Collins/Genesis fan I am now (and Brother Bear, which only released 4 years later, would boost that even more), Phil himself being one of the first musicians I could recognize.
Over the years, as I've grown up, the soundtrack's been more and more of a comfort for me. I don't get some of the hate around it (looking at you, Doug Walker (though to be fair to him, he's been more tame about it than he used to be)) , since it's clear that a lot of love was poured into it, and some of the behind-the scenes stories of the songs just make me love it even more (like the fact that Phil wrote YBIMH for his daughter), but to each their own!
Anyways, enough gushing from me. I hope you all enjoy! ^_^
I’m late to the party, but congrats on 14 million subs, @therealjacksepticeye !! =D
Can’t believe we’ve made it this far! Seems like a couple of years ago around this time, you had nearly three million. I’m so happy to see how much the community grew!!
Speaking of which, I’ve been a part of the community now for two years! And it still remains to be one of the nicest ones I’ve ever been in.
It’s actually one of my new year’s resolutions to get involved in it a bit more, so I can’t wait to see what you, the community, and the year itself will bring. =3
There isn’t much to say that I haven’t already told you, so for now, I’ll just say thank you again for another great year. ^w^
And I hope you like this! Have I improved since last year? Eh…the jury is still kind of out on that.
I hope that not only Jack, but everyone likes this!
I made this as a thanks to him. As of now, it’s been a year since I first started watching him, and he’s helped me through quite a lot.
When I first found him, I was going through a terrible relationship (to put it lightly) and severe depression because of it. Throughout the year Jack, along with my close friend @ladyindigopinstripes helped me smile and laugh so much, and I can’t possibly thank either of them enough.
Here’s to another year of laughter and smiles!
