The wild thing about getting my news from NPR and similar news outlets, like the AP and Reuters, is that I have no idea what's going viral.
I don't have a twitter and I no longer scroll through TikTok. So I have no idea what people are even talking about outside, like, Climate Change and famine and war and snails, plus one random movie NPR reviews on Friday.
And I really don't feel like I'm missing out. Because I feel like I have a normal amount of concern for what's happening here and around the world. I feel equipped with the background details and I have an understanding of the solutions we can achieve.
There's no sense of impending doom is I guess what I'm trying to say. Even if there's an understanding of urgency and importance. And even if the news comes with grief or anger. There's simply no... apocalypticism.
