mj understood a total of three words from quinns speech
i’m reading The Secret History and there’s a part about Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley in there?
For the color ask: Rose and yellow!
Aww, Thank you! 🥰
i really appreciated how he talked about therapy/medications and alluded to the fact that sometimes you've got to try really hard to find what works for you (personality it took years to find the right therapist/ medication) but the best part had to be how he said he didn't want it to define him. i always had a hard time when i was younger not having my first self descriptive word being "mentally ill," you know? 1/2
even now i'm spoonie anon to you lol. but many of his fans fall into a category of people who are self depreciating and often identifying yourself firstly as depressed is 'cute' in this culture? idk man i wish i could have seen someone i look up to this much be open like this when i suffered from depression, it's just such a good video!! 2/2 🥄🥄
agreed! personally I found the right medication very easily, but in my three bouts of therapy, none of them were, well, therapeutic. (this was worsened by my unwillingness to be fully honest, though, because I knew that if I admitted to being mentally ill my doctors would stop any looking into my physical symptoms, which were way more debilitating). I think it’s really important though for people to be aware that medication and therapy isn’t a one shot and you’re out thing.
also Idk why exactly so many people identify first with their mental illness. I think it could have to do with, before you really start to recover, it does seem like a defining, all-consuming thing and that view that you exist despite your illness, rather than as your illness is easy to forget. I do think it’s extremely important for people to, at some point, learn to understand that they aren’t their illness, and it isn’t their primary defining factor, though. (that’s why I giffed that quote uh yeah.) I know for me the “I am who I am despite this thing holding me back” is a mantra that has helped me a lot, and I gree that it’s an important thing to put into words.
he's constantly projecting his voice and sometimes you gotta be like sam baby. indoor volume
Sam, baby MY HEART
yeah he’s just naturally a little loud😔always gotta interrupt his rambling to get him to be quieter
yeah in middle school you were expected to put your backpack away before class and just bring like, the notebook you need so your backpack was in your locker all day and you had to stop there between EVERY class... i got in trouble all the time because i was always running late in the morning and didnt have time to stop at my locker to put my bag away if i wanted to be on time. i think they just had that rule because they wanted another reason to make children miserable there lol. side note i love hearing about minor differences between people's high schools it's so entertaining
that sounds awful 😭
