I’ve also noticed how Lana del Rey is also such a hetero-pessimist,her fandom is also so toxic😭😭 (i’m going to get publicly executed for saying this)
girl don’t worry. honestly, it’s disappointing how so many women (like sabrina carpenter) fall into the hetero-pessimist circle. they cannot be rescued from the forms of suffering (misogyny, patriarchy) that they themselves wear as badges of honour (the lolita cover for one). like, no, their lyrics do not somehow comment on the patriarchy in a way that’s criticising it. it’s basically them saying “yes, i live in this world. so what?” it’s disgusting, in a way.
as a queer person, it’s weird to see how straight artists approach relationships. not like they owe us anything other than basic respect. but why is your relationship rooted in pain and having a boot on your neck all the time? maybe i’m not involved in the queer community, but it very much different from the culture that surrounds straight relationships.
how do you hate the gender you say you’re attracted to this much and at the same time cater to the system that empowers them?
how are you represented as a feminist icon in music when all of your branding and songs revolves around men?
love how women’s suffering is romanticised. anyway, watch @/Shanspeare’s video on sabrina + parallels to lana to really understand what i am saying, to anyone reading this.
