why do people born in the 90´s or even 80´s think they´re the 90´s generation

Umm... I guess because we grew up or were brought up in that era? Like, I was born in the early 90′s and was raised in that decade too; like I listened to all the music, watched all the movies and tv shows (even media that were specifically targeted to kids like me who were around and alive in that era), like I wasn’t around throughout the entire decade, but I’ve seen most of it during that timeframe, so I definitely think that I am part of that generation (like I’ve even watched movies like Space Jam, George of the Jungle, and Good Burger in theater around the time they came out, so I don’t see why I wouldn’t be a part of it lol)

Also, towards the mid-to-late 90′s, it was practically overtaken by people who were born in the 80′s lol. Teen idols and groups like Britney Spears, Nsync, and Destiny’s Child were born in the early 80′s and became pop icons in the late 90s. Even for some average joes who weren’t famous, like there were some people born in the 80′s that were in elementary school, middle school, high school, or even in college or working jobs, and there were lots of stuff that was targeted or centered around them.
