i finished jennifer's body and i have many thoughts on it. loved how campy it was. generally fun to watch. i could think for a long time about the queer themes, implications, and scenes of/in the movie. it was good i enjoyed it.
also, really fun to have the female characters be so unapologetic about things. and i though jennifer was INCREDIBLY interesting (a sad character, but also fun in how unabashedly she overpowered those around her, as well as how distinctly gut wrenching the transformation can feel when viewed through the lens of sexual violence).
i have more thoughts about it, definitely surrounding jennifer and needy's relationship, both through a social lens and a romantic one. as well as thoughts about how the movie could also be viewed through the lens of sexual violence against women, with jennifer's possession being an allegory for the trauma response someone may have after violence like that. and yeah.
good movie, very camp, many thoughts. will be watching again.
