First, greetings from Finland! I want to thank you for this wonderful Tumbler-page. Like a lot of people, once I found it, I devoured all the stories you have postetd and reblogged. What an uplifting thing you are doing! GREAT JOB! I found my way here while I was making a christmas advent calendar with cheerful videos and stories for my sister who is living in Argentina. I decided also to submit a story which I read in a local news paper and this text below is loosely translated from the original FB post:
I was walkin down the street to my office and while waiting at the lights next to an older lady, our eyes met and I asked her “how is life?”. She answered “All is quite well, but after passing 90 years, my hip is giving me trouble and all my friends are gone”. She told me that her life was quite lonely. At this point I, an ex peace keeper started to well up a bit but then had a brilliant solution to this situation. While she lived quite close to my office, we could have lunch once in a while. We romantically exchanged our numbers right then and there with a promise to make a date. The lady had a parting words for me; “I really like you young people. Please remember to have fun”
Here is the lng for that Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/jerome.saarinen?fref=ts
